“I went to this restaurant because I really enjoy eating from their food truck parked often on Rucker Blvd. I went to Nogales Sonora when I was a teenager and I LOVED the street vendor foods. These guys are the closest thing to what I experienced all those years ago. The restaurant has a very charming atmosphere (I'm a huge fan of the movie "Coco"). The food options in restaurant are pretty much the same as the food truck plus a lot of your standards Mexican fare. I ordered a torta with carne asada. If I'm nit picking, the only criticism I have is that there's not a lot of flavor in their meats. They're very greasy, which means that they're cooking them on a flat kitchen grill and not an actual barbecue grill. That means it's not really "asada". The torta was decent, but it would have been great if they'd actually seasoned, marinated, and grilled the meat. But overall I enjoyed the experience and would go again.“

“Our first visit to Maneku Sushi was just wonderful. The new appetizer, Kani tempura, was very good. I ordered 2 rolls and was very pleased with the taste and size of them. My husband ordered a bulgogi bento box. It tasted very good also. (I stole some bites) The staff was very attentive and friendly. We're definitely going back. This is our new go to restaurant for sushi when we're in town.“

“Hook's BBQ is on point, I been in many BBQ restaurant's all over the US, and for sure I will comeback whenever I visit Alabama again. I order the 2 meat plate, potato salad and green beans and everything was amazing and so was the service! Seriously. The place is very relax and clean. Want real BBQ flavor? Look no further.“

“It’s no secret that buffets are all about timing. We usually go for lunch, around 12pm. noon. The food is always really good. We’ve been coming here for many years and the quality has been pretty consistent. My very picky sister even likes their sushi.“

“We moved here from Austin, Texas two years ago so bbq is a touchy subject for me. We both had the chopped pork sandwich and it was very tender and pretty good flavor. They have a couple of good sauces which you gotta have on the sandwich. Everyone was full of life with a great sense of humor. We will be going back to try more. Really enjoyed our time while we were there.“

“My daughter and I decided to try this place out despite all the crazy 1 star reviews. Alora helped us out and was an absolute gem! I got a burger and fries and they were both phenomenal! I highly recommend ignoring all the bad reviews and giving this place a try! This will be my go to for a burger when I’m in town!“
