We came in and had the bologna sandwich and the shrimp salad, and both were absolutely outstanding. The bologna sandwich was piled high, grilled just right, and hit every nostalgic note you could hope for. The shrimp salad was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. On top of that, the soup of the day was rich and comforting—true scratch-made goodness that you don’t find just anywhere. Even the sweet tea, served in a mason jar, felt right at home here.

Meeting Wanda and Patti was an absolute highlight—they welcomed us like family, and that warmth is exactly why so many people keep coming back year after year. “JT’s is fairly basic as far as hotel bars go, though I’d think the renaissance would hold a higher standard. The food was excellent; fresh and delicious, just limited in variety. The drink menu was elevated but felt extremely short for a cocktail lounge. The staff did a great job, but were clearly struggling to keep up with the crowd.

Vegetarian options: Limited standard menu, so veg options are extremely limited.“

There’s a certain calm and charm that makes Key Circle stand out—it captures the character of Mountain Brook perfectly: elegant, relaxed, and community-centered. While it may not have playgrounds or walking trails, it’s a picturesque and tranquil green space that adds a lot of personality to the neighborhood. A hidden gem that embodies Southern beauty and small-town sophistication.“

“This was our last stop of the night and I'm extremely happy we ended up going, instead of saving it for a different girls' night! They had great appetizer and drink options. The service was great, but there ended up being several different servers and it caused some mix up with our bill. But disregarding that little inconvenience the atmosphere, drinks, food, and decor were all GREAT! Make sure you try the Jello shots with pop-rocks“

“We arrived late and had a few drinks but I loved this spot. Not too big of a space, but it was very intimate, and the live music was everything. The singer and band on stage were very talented and did an excellent job on their cover of some classics. Will definitely visit again.“

“We were in town for a dance convention a few blocks away. We love Hotel Indigo and often stay at one when available. This location was not quiet as up to date as others we've visited, but we were quiet comfortable.
We were in a double queen room. The beds were not super soft but comfortable. The room was very small. We had room to move around but none to spare. The room was nice and clean and the bathroom sparkling clean.
To note was the staff. Everyone from valet parking to check-in to requests to general welcoming was just phenomenal. The valet workers were the sweetest people! I wish I'd gotten their names. I'm thinking one is Angela and not sure the other who worked night shift, but she was wonderful as well.
I have to note that the front desk manager, Sharekia (I hope I spelled it correctly) was welcoming, kind and patient, and worked long hours to be as consistently kind and personable as she is. I hope the hotel values her because she's wonderful for customer service and I see a true leader in her.
Overall, our stay was great and we have no real complaints. There was no fridge in the room. Also, ice isn't available on every floor. Elevators are old and small. They're a little slow. But again, none of these are things that would prevent me from returning here. The cleanliness, comfort and customer service make for a definite yes in my book.“
