Best pizza i had ever had
Quick and friendly service. Get a bigger pizza so you have breakfast the next day- because the pizza hits all the marks! Could use more garlic, but so good!!
Great food. Crust on pizza and calzones were made fresh, delicious. Dakota the manager was witty and entertaining. Good music.
Would give it 0 if I could. We waited an hour for our food, they claimed a computer issue. The waiter took 30 minutes to check on us. Finally when they realized we didn't have food they tried to rush it, we told them to plate it to go as we had kids and couldn't wait to eat any longer. Got a Whopping $7 discount for our inconvenience of not being able to eat. The manager (Tommy) was no help. Feel like I had $50 stolen from me. Don't do any business here.
Just the best pizza in town! The service was impeccable, too! 👏
Great pizzas. You can't beat it.
no hostess to seat us so we picked a seat, took at least 5 minutes for the waitress to show up to the table. (the place was NOT busy) only about 5 tables occupied in the whole place. it then took another 5 for her to bring our drinks & 40 minutes to get our food.
Food was good. No hostess to seat us so we picked a table. Took 5 minutes for the waitress to show up another 5 to get drinks & 45 minutes for our food to be brought to us. The place was almost empty, so not sure why things took so long.
Our first time visiting and we absolutely loved it! Pizza was excellent and the server was amazing! He made sure we had everything we needed and was so kind when we asked to stay and listen to music for a while. This will definitely be a go to the next time we visit!
Great in all aspects

Friday night, March 28th, steak night, arrival time 6:30 p.m. Ordered 2 Filets and 2 salads. 1 and 1 /2 hour later we inquired at the bar regarding at least getting our salads, since our table had not been visited by waitstaff. About 20 minutes later salads were brought. Another hour went by and we inquired at the bar about our Filets. We were told they would check, which turned into, they were out of Filets. Would we now like Ribeyes? Short answer, no. A conversation was held with us and Chris the owner who offered no concern for the situation other than, had we now been offered Ribeyes? A minimum discount for the food we had to this point was given and we left. We are regulars, there at least twice a week. This is likely going to change. Such a shame.
During our stay in Mentone, AL, we had a craving for some good pizza. Checked out a few Google searches and yelp reviews.
We were headed to another home town pizza spot when we ask someone in the parking lot for advice. They suggested we try Mater’s just down the road.
Nice spot in the downtown district. Exposed brick walls and “bar pie” feel. We were seated quickly and ordered our appetizer promptly.
Mozzarella sticks were hot and crisp, but obviously frozen. Still good, marinara sauce was thick and tasty.
We ordered a thin crust pizza w Alfredo sauce instead of tomato sauce. Waitress said Alfredo was made to order so it might take a little longer. No worries.
Pizza came out hot and bubbling. Crust was thin and crisp but lacked any airy fermentation in the bones. Pepperoni was crisp and tangy. Niblet pineapple was sweet and juicy.
The Alfredo sauce was thin and lacked a garlic flavor. I did taste spicy jalapeño side note. Not sure if that was intentional or misguided.
Overall, good experience. Better choice than chain store pizza. Nice bar pie atmosphere.
4/5, give it a try if your in town.
Recently moved to Ft Payne and this was our first pizza here. Our pizza and chicken philly were awesome. We ordered take out and everything went smoothly. Will order again.
Deep dish style pizza was delicious..love that Maters has live music.
