On Tuesday Sept 28 we went to Fort Payne to see the Alabama museum. After our tour we rode up to town and went to the park. We walked downtown looking for a place to eat and someone recommended The Strand. We walked in to a pleasant surprise. We found it charming and whimsical. Me met a friendly man named Heath. He told us about the specials and what was good. My sister and I both ordered the burgers. As we waited for for our food we chatted with Heath who talked to us told us stories and gave us Alabama fans some inside information. He told us stories about the band and just all round friendly. Our burgers came out hot and fresh and the onion rings were big enough to use as a bracelet. The tea was perfect and we enjoyed our meal as we chatted with others in the restaurant! If we ever make it back to Fort Paine we will be back again! Thanks to Heath and his son Colt it made our day a pleasant experience.
Waited 33 minutes and there were seven tables of others waiting with no one having gotten their food. Place smells like propane and the ceiling looks like it's going to cave in with water damage and possible mold?
It was a great down to earth friendly place to eat. Seating was spaced out. Food was good as described and staff had the friendly southern hospitality that we all know and love. Would recommend this place to friends.
Very good hamburger but onion rings were very greasy
Excellent food and very friendly staff.
Last visit there was horrible . An hour and a half wait time and restaurant not even half full . When we finally got our food , everything was overdone or burnt . Terrible experience. And this was a place we have eaten at 4 times prior to this visit , all good experiences. No apology for the food , no refund offered , no remake of our food offered on this last visit . We won’t be back . Signed , The Taylor Family . It’s true that one really bad experience can leave a “ bad taste “ in ones mouth .
One of the BEST burgers I have had in a long time. Cooked to order. Great taste. Crispy exterior. Juice inside. And the crimp on the bun gave it a little extra texture. I had the chili burger and it was delicious. My husband had the Strand burger and loved it!
It's an interesting little antique shop, with a little kitchen in the back. They were very nice folks. The onion rings were good, and ! ENORMOUS !, but the Bonanza Burgers were not up to what we were expecting from the indications from other reviews - they were dry, a little over-done, and the flavor was not that great. Maybe it was just a bad day for the cook, but I feel like they need to put some effort into restoring this family recipe.
food was amazing!! its a very different and unique place to eat.

Not sure what has happened to the strand food. At one time it was some of the best food in ft payne. But after the last 3 times of eating here I won't be back. At this point Hardee's was a better burger and fries.
Beautifully themed and the burgers are very well made. They even have a secret sauce on them.
Great visit! Talking about Jesus and eating a Bonanza burger!
Great food, fast & courteous service. Nostalgic interior! Thanks for a great experience!
Burger pretty darn good, onion rings were awesome! Tea and Dr pepper were good also. That is pretty important to us at a restaurant. But talking to the owner was very cool. He gave me a little history lesson on the building and the town of Ft. Payne. I thank him for that!
