I can't recommend trying this place on st Patrick's day weekend because it was packed, loud, and took forever to get service, understandably. But the kitchen was on point, getting the food out fast, hot, and delicious. The trash can fries are enormous and have a very smokey flavor. Southwest egg rolls are excellent.

Downtown Chief is one of my favorite places to eat in Gadsden. They have wonderful vegetables with real flavor! I am not a big meat eater but my husband does enjoy their chicken fingers, he has commented that it is hit and miss with getting good ones...I think there's usually such a crowd that the fingers get forgotten on occasion and instead of tossing them they serve them up burned and tough. If you're lucky enough to get the ones that are cooked like they're supposed to be cooked, you're in for a wonderful treat!This is a place where they can improve ?The one other thing I've noticed is they use instant potatoes and it's obvious! I never eat anything like that at home and I don't expect to get it at a restaurant, step up guys! You're better than that!!! Everything else is so excellent it's almost embarrassing that you're serving that boxed cheese potato casserole and mashed potatoes!Your black pepper cabbage is the bomb! Reminds me of my grandmother's back in Ohio, the little bacon and hot pepper in the background is just heavenly. Polish food yummy ?.I don't know where your recipes come from but keep up the good work and fill the spaces that need improvement, you guys can be the best in town with a little work on a few tiny things!

My wife and I ate here on st patrick day weekend. The Cuban burger and philly cheesesteak were very good. The happy hour is awesome. Great resturant with a long bar to sit at. They had green beer that day and live music. I will definetly be back. Trash can fries we're good to. Nice restaurant for sandwiches and appetizers. After several visits over a few years this place is a keeper.

First never heard of Thia place.We had family in hospital and we asked people where to eat that wasn't a big chain everyone said Downtown Chief.We had 10 in our party we went and thought this place looks cute.Staff was friendly ,great,and helped us with menu and what to order.Then our trashcan fries come out.OMG good.We got a sampler platter it was good.Then food come out cant say enough about how great it was but this was yesterday and family today still talking this place.Thank u staff and cooks We LOVED IT...

Great food and a friendly but not intrusive staff. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food portions were good. I had Philly sandwiche and it was the best I've had around here. Monday through Friday they have a plate lunch special with huge portions.

The BEST ever fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese and pepper jelly. They were just awesome. Could have used a real knife and individual plates but they were still awesome. French fries and salad were great. Hamburger was okay. Atmosphere was great. Really nicely decorated for Christmas.
This is a cool spot in downtown Gadsden, the food was excellent! Service was good, I recommend the sampler plate. I had the Chicken Quesadilla, Buffalo chicken dip and cheese sticks. All were fantastic and fresh and hot which I greatly appreciated.

I was in Gadsden on business and your restuarant was recommended by local business owner. I had the Tuesday lunch special.1. The hamburger steak was way Over cooked, maybe it was left from last Tuesday and warmed over.2. The creamed corn was poured out of a can. Lots of cream and little corn.3. Mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant.4. The menu said cobbler, we were e served banana pudding that was loaded with artificial sugar.5. Okra was ok, could have drained a little more oil off them.6. The best part of the meal by far was the fried green tomatoe slice.Was not what I was expecting for a $14 meat and 3

me and my wife came in was seated immediately ordered our food and appetizer was there over 45 mins never got our appetizer or food people that came in after us got there appetizers and food our waitress never came back to our table after bringing us our drinks I have been in there several times and it was always great service and got our food fast today was just pathetic
