This used to be my favorite taco shop in town, but since they moved service has gone downhill. Don't order on Grubhub if you want to actually receive any food. They ignore all the Grubhub orders and refuse to give refunds when you show up to pick up your food. They are randomly closed and don't even have a counter to place orders at. There are too many good taco trucks in Birmingham to put up with this nonsense.

The food at this place is so good!! Truly an amazing experience. The staff is so nice and friendly! My favorite thing on the menu is the ceviche and the hibiscus water.

Let me start by saying it has been a while since I have eaten at this establishment. I happened to be in the area so I figured I would grab an order of the nachos since they were once my favorite buds from this establishment. Now before going I did check up to see if they were still receiving great reviews. Needless to say I saw the previous review regarding chips and salsa however I just assumed it was dues to the nature of the chips being made in the establishment. Boy was I wrong I am not sure if the chips were made earlier and the cook tried to re fry them or if he literally dropped them in the fryer pulled them up and threw them in the box. My chips were full of grease so there was no crunch to them. Definitely a big disappointment and waste of $13.80.

We ordered the breakfast burrito, which is supposed to have 3 meats, eggs, and cheese. It was 98% egg, 2% diced hot dog. Not deserving to be called a breakfast burrito.

Me and my boyfriend came across this hole in the wall trying to find something to eat late night and let me tell you THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT... we have the Birria Tacos and an Al Pastor quesadilla. DELICIOUS!!! Waiter was awesome super attentive. Would definitely recommend if you're in the mood for some great tacos.

This place is very small and hidden next to a Little Caesars. Don't let the outside fool you inside is very welcoming. I was greeted immediately by a woman who seemed to do take the orders and bring out the food if you dine in. I ordered three chicken tacos and chips with salsa. She brought out the salsa and chips, you can see that the chips are homemade. They have an amazing crunch to them and the salsa has a nice heat on the finish. I then received the tacos, they were delicious and you could see the freshness from them. The green salsa was nice tangy flavor and the red salsa spicy. I combined both for a great taste to the tacos. The tacos were single tortilla, unlike other Mexican places that have a double tortilla. When I finished the meal the girl told me to leave everything on the table. It gave a feel like a full service restaurant but a casual dinner. Another bonus is that they have both Coke and Pepsi products! You can choose either for whichever side you prefer!

TACO DIRTY TO ME!A friend and I meet for dinner once every two weeks or so. Usually we wind up at a chain spot, but this time around it was something different. We had found this hole in the wall Mexican spot on Greensprimgs Highway. Tacos La Tia Paisa came highly recommended by some other Yelpers. Since I wasn't too enthused with the experience I had at Lady Bird Taco, Taco La Tia Paisa was a place others have loved and wanted me to try. Located in Homewood next door to Little Caesars Pizza, this Mexican spot has charm, ambience, and tons of options. The menu has a variety of options to choose from, but I have to point out that the tacos are as authentic as authentic Mexican tacos can get. Definitely got a sexy kind of feel to this hole in the wall. There was day of the dead decor everywhere and even their mascot is day of the dead the,ed, but she is in a very sexy looking dress. We came inside on a dreary, rainy afternoon right around 5pm. There was one girl handling the front and another person in the back. She was very lively and energetic. As soon as we sat down and we're given menus she asked for our drink orders. Since we had not been here before we needed so,e time to think of what we would have wanted for drinks. It's sad that this spot only has Pepsi products, Jarritos, and some beers. I wished they also offered some other types of beverages. Even canned Ghost Train Paloma, would add right into the Mexican theme. We ordered an appetizer for the table. Easy and simple chips and salsa. The chips were definitely homemade. Looked very different from other chips we have had, but sadly they had zero flavor. No salt no nothing. The salsa too, my friend took the first bite and told me that it was not spicy at all. This can be a good or a bad sign. Good in the sense of the flavor being mild in flavor, yet bad in the sense of there not being anything in it. It tasted super watered down. There were no chunks of peppers in it at all. It had the consistency of gazpacho, but lacked flavor completely. One of the reasons that we had chosen this spot was because we wanted to try the new trendy Birria Tacos. They were popular in Los Angeles, California for a while and have slowly made it to other cities in other states. It was my first time trying these tacos, but won't certainly be my last. Think of these tacos like this: a French dip sandwich meets a taco. Comes with a dipping sauce on the side and are filled to the brim with pulled beef, onions, cilantro. They tasted delicious, and I was so happy we were given limes on the side. The flavor of the lime squeezed over top of the tacos enhanced the flavors so so much. For hole in the wall food this place is pretty good. But just like any hole in the wall type of establishment, there are going to be some really good and popular menu items and some that aren't as great too. I would recommend staying clear of the chips and salsa though. If you are looking to hop on the band Waggoner of the newest trend in Mexican food, I highly suggest this spot. Good cheap eats.

This was my 2nd time trying quesobirria tacos con consume. Think of it like a French dip, but with tacos. They were delicious! I normally like my tacos a little bit spicy, but I didn't taste anything spicy. To me everything looked homemade, even the chips and salsa. My friend and I walked into a spotless, clean, & organized restaurant. The employees had beaming smiles on their face the whole time we were there and they were eager to help us. I was very pleased with my experience there.

Service is always good. The food can be inconsistent (serving sizes/portions of onions/cilantro vary per week) but always tastes great especially on $1 taco night. The margaritas are STRONG. I'll keep recommending this place to everyone. Don't come in expecting perfect consistency and you won't be disappointed. I've had some of the best tacos here. Come on Wednesdays. 9.5/10

Came here for Taco Tuesday during what I thought was happy hour time around 6pm for food and drinks. However it was not happy hour time but drink specials and taco specials do not happen until around 8pm. I enjoyed my Birria tacos but I did not enjoy the drinks. Margaritas was not prepared well and there were only two flavor options which were lime and strawberry . The friends I did come with also stated how the drinks were not good. Many of them ordered the strawberry margarita and stated it was a lot syrup / more sugary and was not properly prepared like a margarita. It was also the first night of them trying a DJ and the music was good. Food was good but drinks need a lot of improvement. Probably will only be back for the food and that's it.

All the food is in pretty large portions so be ready to eat. The tamales were amazing! the burrito was so good and huge.

I've eaten here twice, both times good but not great. It's pricy (I understand prices have gone up due to supply chain issues). It's not atypical for taco prices in Birmingham though so I can't totally blame them. You'll easily spend $50 for two people to eat. Nice for a treat every now and then! I have higher standards than most for Mexican so plenty of people will probably really enjoy this food and think it 5 stars. They run out of certain things (common for small businesses) which doesn't personally upset me. Nice ambiance with music playing on a tv with speakers in the corner.

The only thing I like more than the food here is the fact that they are women owned! This place has a very pleasant welcoming atmosphere. The dining area is clean and well lit and the staff are friendly and professional. About $17 for the 4 birria tacos so I can only eat here as often as my bank account allows lmao.
