This past Saturday, I treated myself to a me date a day dedicated entirely to myself. After indulging in a relaxing one-hour massage, I found myself absolutely starving. Wanting to try something new, I continued my exploration of Homewood’s restaurant scene and landed on The Battery.

My Fiancée and I went there today for our 5 year anniversary date, and the food was lovely! Our Waitstaff was Chris, and they did a lovely job. Would definitely recommend!

The Battery offers a great dining experience, with a packed menu that includes smash burgers and other delicious options like the summer salad with chicken, southern mom's chicken, and Philly cheesesteak. The restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating, with numerous TVs both inside and outside to ensure a great view of the game. The friendly and fast staff provide great service, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal or watch a game. The place is often packed inside and out, which is usually a good sign. The interior has a modern, inviting atmosphere, and the service is excellent. The waiter is incredibly kind, answers all questions, and ensures customers never have to ask for a refill. Despite the restaurant being full, the service is impressively quick, and every dish arrives hot. The menu includes well-sauced Buffalo Wings. The Smash Burger is a well-executed dish with a crispy edge and juicy interior, considered by some to be the best in town, made with 100% Angus beef and very flavorful. The restaurant also offers a Pimento cheese appetizer that is good, and authentic strawberry shortcake that was grand. The shrimp tacos were enjoyed. The fries are awesome, outstanding - hot, crispy, and well-seasoned. The Wedge Salad is solid. The Philly cheesesteak looks different in real life than on the website, and the chicken Philly cheesesteak steak and steak Philly cheesesteak were loved, though disappointing in appearance compared to the website. The pesto chicken pasta was also enjoyed. The staff were friendly and attentive, coming around with water pitchers to refill glasses multiple times and cleaning plates from the table within minutes of finishing. The pictures on the restaurant's website are unfortunately not accurate. While eating outside, there were an unusually high amount of flies. Overall, The Battery is a great experience, and customers would happily return. The restaurant is still highly recommended.
