Pleasant older property recently nicely refurbished. Friendly staff, very clean premises. Odd layout, elevators are at back of building so be prepared to walk a lot of hallways. No bathroom amenities, just dispensers; no daily maid service. Location is the key to this hotel; cannot be beat; close to everything and safe. Bistro dining concept is still just that and really does not work well. Save your money and go to one of the many local spots nearby. Nice pool area for relaxing....
We were pleasantly surprised at the room rennovation completed since our last visit. The totally new bathroom is impressive. The window heating/air con unit made so much noise that it was difficult to sleep. Maybe it's time to look for a new go-to hotel in BHM. I mentioned it at check-out and got a quick apology and thank you for staying.
Great location up on a hill off the main highway, so very quiet. When we checked in the room was clean, but we needed a few things like foam pillows and extra towels and the staff was very accommodating. Comfortable lobby area with areas to sit or work on your laptop. There is a small market that was open in the mornings for coffee and light breakfast. Market near front desk also well stocked. You can walk across the street to a Shell station, Target or Macy's if you need...
