They never have everything. I don’t think I’ve ever been and everything in the menu for that day was in stock.
Food taste great. But I especially want to take a moment and say thank you to the owners of this establishment for allowing truckers to park here. It's very hard to do my job and be away from the people I care for and then to add to the hardship it is incredibly difficult to find a place to park. So I give you people thanks, respect and I will definitely be back and bring my appetite with me!
Stopped in for the first time, everything is in to go boxes which was fine because there was so much food I knew I couldn't eat it all! I ordered the smothered chicken which is thigh chicken with dressing, I got collards and Mac & cheese. Staff was friendly, plenty of seating and food was hot and delicious! Only thing I can say is the floor needed to be mopped, was sticky. Will I go back? You betcha!
The staff was so friendly and attentive. The fried chicken was very good, really liked potato salad, the collard greens too.
Classic soul food. Very tasty and flavorful.
What food was correct was good. We had some items missing and items that were wrong. We had already left and couldn’t have them corrected and they wouldn’t answer and the voicemail is full.
Great Southern food. Just like Mom would have cooked!
That country fried steak is everything! All the food is amazing!

The yams look days old, greens taste like they came out the can and crunched in salt and the peach cobbler stale and burnt! I didn’t even waste my time complaining because the young lady up front wasn’t welcoming at all!

I ordered fried green tomatoes with my meal but by the time we got home I discovered they were not there. I called them back several times but no answer. Didn’t think it was worth driving back so close to closing. However, don’t like the idea of paying for food I didn’t receive. Food was decent but definitely not a five star experience, regrettably.

I visited twice before writing this review. I also previously frequented both G's and Sac's Kitchen. I will say this place is the best of the three!!!
What I loved... the catfish it is the best ever the outside is crispy the inside is soft and tender) absolute perfection, yams are just right, couple it with the cabbage and the cornbread. Then finish it off with red velvet cake or peach cobbler you can not go wrong.
Pardon my pictures, I went on two different days. The first time I went, I had catfish, yams, and greens. I was really hungry by the time I made it home, and I started eating before I took the pics. So that is not how your food comes for the fish plate.
What I liked was the chicken and dressing (it was a little salty but still edible). I had dressing at other places, and it just was not right. The flavor profile here is the closest I have found to my homemade dressing. The chicken was tender falling off the bone, and it was good. The greens were okay, but I prefer the cabbage.
The things I tried but will not order again...the menu says banana pudding but I noticed the young lady wrote down cookies...so I am guessing it should be cookies with banana pudding drizzle or something but it was not banana pudding.
I like baked mac n cheese, so this type is not my jam.
Overall, this is my go-to Soul Food place. The food is good, the people are nice, did I mention the food is good? The icing on the cake is for the price you pay for your meal, it also includes a drink and dessert.
You have to come check out Bettie Maes!!!

Great service and atmosphere! The fried chicken had a great brine and was crispy. We were truly looking forward to our lunch. Unfortunately, the chicken had a fish flavor, like it was fried in the same grease as fish. The fried tomatoes were soggy & bland. The okra batter was visible under cooked. The Mac & cheese, was soupy and bland. The fried fish was underwhelming. We were very disappointed. Hopefully when we patronize this establishment again, we will have a better experience.
