“My family and I have visited Ol Heidelberg since the early 80s. We've celebrated weddings, graduations and holidays there. It's a tradition. Last evening I was able to have dinner with a friend who was a first time visitor. I must say I was saddened by the whole experience. The food was still very good but the overall atmosphere and service were not what it used to be. The place my family loved had a tiny bud vase with a fresh flower and a candle on the table. The bread came out in a basket wrapped in a warm cloth napkin to keep it warm. It was tiny small touches like those that made dining there special. Last evening the guy sitting people bald faced lied to us. We were sitting on the bench three feet behind him. He had not called our name like he said. Once we were finally seated at a booth, our food took well over an hour to arrive. The whole experience from start to finish just wasn't the same. They've lost that extra something that had kept our family coming back for years. While the food was fine when we finally got it, everything else was kinda sad.“
