Been coming here since I was a kid with my family. I can’t find any restaurant that has such a good coconut soup. I wish they would bring back the soft shell crab with asparagus sauce though!

This is not authentic curry. The Panang had a strange cheesy taste and looked like massaman paste. The massaman curry only had avocado slices and cashews, no potatoes or onions. I had to ask to add them and it ended up having an unpleasant cinnamon flavor. Service was nice, but I would never eat here again or recommend this to anyone that likes authentic Thai cuisine.

Easy and convenient SE Asian/Thai. Overall options were a little limited as far as curry and noodle dishes go but they have a few standouts like the beef massaman curry. If you like more American type food this is the Thai place for you. Baked trout, steak, chicken satay (it's grilled chicken on a skewer) simple rice dishes are available. They also offer sushi. The nigiri was large and very overly firm with small rice grains . I wonder if they used a mould to form the rice instead of by hand. it overall was not very impressive. They have a full bar with a small sake selection and a larger cocktail selection including multiple varieties of Cosmo. Overall this is a inoffensive accessible entry point to some Asian flavors. Everyone even picky eaters should find something. Those looking for more traditionally prepared dishes should look elsewhere.

Food was delicious. Decor on par. Service friendly. Lunch is very busy and took awhile to get seated and food took awhile to get to us, but it was great tasting!

I like the food here & most of the staff. I normally tip huge, including take out. But the guy who takes the orders & serves Customers at the bar doesn’t seem to understand customer service. And it seems to be affect the young lady assisting at the bar.
After many visits & many friendly greetings he still is not inclined to acknowledge that there is human being standing in front of him. I can wait forever if recognition & maybe even a half smile are provided.
Surin is a good restaurant, maybe this gentleman could direct activities in the kitchen? I sure would hate to join my friends who have quit patronizing this establishment.
Basic courtesy goes a long way.

Came here for lunch soup was served late and my husband’s food showed up right after but I never got my meal. I basically watched him eat until his food was finished and mine still had not come. I had to get it to go because the server claimed that they were just so busy. It will be a very long time before I return.

We went on a Sunday evening an old it was crowded but we got a seat right away. This was our first time, and we had high hopes after reading the reviews.

We were very disappointed with the food. It lacked soul, flavor, and it was very apparent they were making the food to appeal to a bland pallet.

Their sweet and sour soup (which we were told was Tom yum) had zero lemon grass, galangal, fish sauce, kaffir lime leaves, and barely any salt. It was warm chicken broth with some sliced mushrooms.

We also ordered the Pad See Ew with beef and the trout plate. The pad see ew was very bland. The fish was fried perfectly and the sauce they served it with was good, we also liked the spinach that was sauteed as a side - however, I wouldn't go back for this dish alone.

Our server was great though. That was a nice highlight.

Visited Surin of Thailand on a Thursday evening around 5:30–6 PM. The restaurant was fairly quiet.

The space has good table spacing, but the high ceilings and tile floors create noticeable echo, which hurts the atmosphere. Natural light is nice, but seating comfort is average at best. There’s no clear signage for waiting to be seated, and finding the restroom wasn’t intuitive. Overall, the vibe felt a bit flat, though the owner appeared engaged, which is a good sign.

Service was generally solid and attentive, and the restaurant didn’t feel understaffed. Seating placement felt awkward with my back to the wall. The standout service moment was payment. The wireless card reader made checkout seamless and efficient, easily a 5/5 experience for card users.

Food was mixed. The BBQ chicken was very moist and easy to eat, with minimal waste, but it seemed unevenly cooked, with one side overly charred and slightly dry. The rice lacked flavor. Sushi Combo 1 was fine but forgettable.

Presentation was decent overall, but small details pulled it down. Buckets of straws and chopsticks on the table felt out of place for a restaurant aiming higher-end. Silverware and plates suggest upscale intentions, but mismatched sauce bowls and even a fly at the table hurt the experience. Value felt fair for portion size, though not exceptional.

I originally wanted the Angel Wing dish, but it wasn’t available.

Overall, Surin of Thailand has potential. Service is efficient, especially at checkout, and the BBQ chicken shows promise, but uneven cooking, bland sides, and atmosphere issues keep it from standing out. A few refinements could make a noticeable difference.

It was packed when we arrived and yet we were seated pretty quickly. Lee was our server and gave us the best service that I have had in a long, long time. He paced our drinks and timed our food courses precisely. He was exceptional. Please give Lee a raise OR the coconut soup recipe.

One of my favorites for Thai food in Huntsville, and an extremely competent sushi bar with a few unique maki rolls.
