Marty's is the go to neighborhood spot in Irondale. Located in a shopping center, there is always plenty of parking. You order at the bar and the staff is always friendly. The music selection is always on point (very important to me) and you're surrounded by locals. Marty's Big Mick might be my favorite smash burger in Birmingham! My husband gets the wings every time we go, he says they are top tier.

Just a very boring over priced place. Burger was comparable to Sonic. Bun was literally the size of a regular McDonalds hamburger. Upgraded to sweet potato fries for $3 and got nothing. This place was trash!!! Save your time and money. Edit: Save on the Big Mick, and go buy a Big Mac. This burger was terrible.

I love the original Marty's PM club in downtown so it was no surprise I love Marty's GM in Irondale as well! The food at the original Marty's is what won me over. The food menu seems even better at this one! The onw downtown is more like a club where people come to drink mostly, but food is available. This one seems to focus on the food more, but drinks are always readily available. The bartender was extremely nice, I'm hard to please when it comes to drinks so he was able to make me his version of a cherry limeade. It was delicious! I tasted some of my friends' fries and wings. They were both beyond delicious! Their fries seem double fried which I love. The wings had a dry rub on them that was a little too spicy for me, but we will definitely try the saucy kind next time. Their house made ranch was phenomenal! We played pool afterwards and just had the best time. Hands down the most fun place you can go in Irondale!

We ordered take-out at the bar on our first-ever visit to Marty's. Authentic dive bar atmosphere, friendly bartender, accommodations in the front for families, and a 21 and over area beyond the bar with games and a couple of pool tables.Food: I loved my BLT. It was on the small side, but a decent amount of B, and plenty of L & T to keep it fresh. My cohorts both ordered the Breakfast Burger. Expecting the egg to be runny like the photos we saw, and thinking the maple glaze would only be on the patty, they were not-so-pleasantly surprised when their eggs were very well done, and the burger bun was saturated in maple syrup. It had a McGriddle taste to it, but with a hamburger patty instead of a spicier sausage. The homemade chips didn't travel well in a to-go container (2 miles away), but the tots were perfectly cooked and salted. The fries were alright, but nothing like the tots.

The bartenders were very attentive and friendly. The vibe of the bar was pretty cool.As far as the food goes, I must have caught them on an off night. The fries we're good and I liked the idea of the popper burger, however, the burger patties were of equal quality of burger King. Flat, way overcooked and tasteless.Oh well, the fries filled me up.
Wings taste very weird like they were frozen and then threw in grease without thawing. I’m just sad we spent $40 and could not even eat it. Literally 1 bite and we had to spit it out.

Terrible service: Micah refused to wait on us, made me a terrible drink I couldn't even drink. I told him I didn't like it, he cussed me out and called Jed terrible names and told me he wouldn't make me another drink. I used to go here all the time, I live near by, I will never come back and I will report to EVERYONE HOW TERRIBLE MICAH WAS, he was CUSSING me out as I left. WORST EXPERIENCE. DO NOT COME HERE

I really liked this local spot, game room on 1 side and tables for eating on the other. Music, bright and airy, staff were fast n efficient, however the burgers weren't as good as I had hoped for. Maybe it was an off night, since it's just down the street from where I live, I'll go back and try it again. Beers could have been colder too, maybe I'll try a martini next time.
