“🌊🐟 TUNA-MAGEDDON: A Review of the Gods 🐟🌊 Let me tell you about a tuna roll so majestic, so utterly unhinged, that I am convinced Poseidon himself rises from the ocean every morning just to slap this fish onto rice with his bare, salty hands. This was not a sushi roll. This was a religious experience. This was the TUNA LOCO, baby — and it blew the last three brain cells I had clean out the back of my skull. ⸻ I walked in expecting a normal roll. Maybe six polite slices of sea-meat wrapped in rice like every other sushi spot. HA. NO. They brought out a plate that looked like Mount Fuji had just exploded in sashimi. I’m talking TWO HANDFULS of glistening, buttery, ruby-red, melt-in-your-soul sashimi-grade tuna piled on top like they were building the tuna Tower of Babel. I had to physically restrain myself from swan-diving onto the plate. ⸻ Every bite tasted like a samurai lullaby being whispered into my mouth by a koi fish. I’m not joking — I blacked out somewhere around bite four and woke up hugging the chef, crying, and whispering “arigato” into his neck. The rice was so perfectly seasoned it made me question if I’ve ever truly loved anything in my life. The wasabi? Sharp enough to reset my childhood trauma. The soy sauce? I wanted to drink it like a fine wine and propose to the bottle. ⸻ 10/10. Five stars. Michelin? This place needs its own galaxy. Come here. Eat the TUNA LOCO. Ascend. And when you do — tell them the feral tuna prophet sent you.”

“Just had the smoked turkey legs and husband had the brisket, everything was incredibly great. I also got the peach cobbler, you know the food touches your soul when you almost cry. Tasted just like my Granny's peach cobbler. Highly recommend this to any and everyone. We'll most definitely be back!!”

“Such a cool spot to go eat! Probably one of the better Mexican restaurants in the Shoals with high quality flavors! I had the Bongo dip which was really good but I'd of preferred it to be spicy still really good, it had ground beef, onions, peppers and cilantro mixed in with their cheese dip. For my lunch plate I've heard about how good the Bongo platter is so I had to get it and was not disappointed all this food on a platter for only $13.99 is crazy cheap! It had chicken and shrimp nachos, a birria quesadilla, chicken taquito a beef flauta and in the center a black bean and queso dip! It was so so good and definitely enough for two people for dinner! Their chicken is the best chicken I've had and all the Mexican restaurants around. I highly recommend going. Will be back for the Birria Ramen!”

“When we first got there the place was packed but we got seated pretty quickly. Ordered the hibachi combo and some orange chicken. The rice on both meals was very dry but overall the food was good. I have no complaints about the orange chicken but the hibachi, I have one complaint. The hibachis taste was good but you could tell the flat top was in desperate need of being cleaned. But it is very affordable, most meals ranging from $7-$15 and you get a lot of food for a decent price. For two people we only spent about $23.”

“We visited here for lunch after a road trip to the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. This is a solid little spot for country cooking.

The sign for the place is a little hard to see and I missed the turn to enter the parking area initially. Made our way back and found a spot, though the lot is a little bit hard to maneuver. We walked inside to a slightly hot, slightly dim interior. It's larger than it looks on the outside. A friendly waitress told us we could sit where we liked, so we took a booth near a window so we could see the menu better.

Their choices were fairly varied for lunch. Lunches come with a meat + 3 veggies and your choice of bread. I ordered the boneless fried chicken breast, macaroni and cheese, fried okra, and at the recommendation of our waitress, the hash brown casserole with a roll as my bread. My mom got the country fried steak with brown gravy, macaroni and cheese, fried okra, cabbage, and a roll. My dad got the same thing except he subbed the cabbage for greens of some sort, though I can't recall if they were turnip or collard greens. He also got the fried cornbread.

Our waitress was very nice and patient with us, even with my dad chatting her up, lol. Our food came out quickly. You pay at the register up front -- we thought the prices were reasonable.

As for the food itself, it was enjoyable! Simple, straightforward, but tasty and comforting. The chicken was breaded expertly and was cooked well. To me, the stand out was the fried okra, which was perfectly crisp. We also enjoyed the macaroni and cheese, greens, and chicken fried steak. My mom said her best thing was the cabbage, which was surprising at first -- but I agree, the cabbage was excellent! The hashbrown casserole and the fried cornbread were the only two letdowns; the casserole needed to be cooked and seasoned a bit more, and the cornbread was likewise a little on the floppy side, instead of having pleasantly crisp edges.

Overall, though, solid country cooking at a reasonable price served quickly by nice people. Give them a go if you're in the area.”

“It’s different enough for this area to be interesting but not so different that it tastes too foreign. I have had similar food in foreign countries like this but really did not like it. I was excited to try this, but I was a little worried. I’m not sure what they do because it’s authentic food but something tells me they keep their local customers in mind. It’s what I wanted this type of food to taste like every time I’ve tried it in the past. The food here is actually as good as it looks. In the past, I may have been intrigued, but disappointed after eating it. The similar food in other areas of the world just taste bland. But this was absolutely delicious! You can tell the owners are excited about the food and concerned about their customers enjoying it.”

“My husband and I absolutely love ramen shops, so we have been all over trying different ones. The closest good one was Huntsville until this place opened! This is a hidden gem of Florence and I HIGHLY recommend it. The ramen is fantastic quality, the pork buns are fluffy and don’t fall apart, and the customer service is phenomenal. To top it off, they have the cute robot cat that brings you your food! Definitely give this place a try, and be sure to add a chicken bun to your order!!!”

Absolutely delicious! We hope to return to the area to stay at Joe Wheeler State Park and will return to Godfather’s Pizza to dine in and try out the buffet while in the area 🤤”
