I was in Meridianville for an errand and suddenly developed a craving for fried chicken. I Googled "fried chicken" and this place popped up with 5 star reviews, so I decided to give it a try. It's inside the Sunoco and the owner said he'd been in business almost a year. The food was excellent, all the right flavors and cooked to perfection. Having grown up in the South, I can tell you that this meets and surpasses all the criteria for Southern food. The fried chicken was moist and tender, with a perfect crispy crunch to the outside. The yam side dish was sweet and nicely seasoned with brown sugar (or something similar) and the appropriate spices - like Thanksgiving dinner! The mac cheese was just out of this world - his grandmother's recipe, I was told! Everything was fresh (I arrived right at opening) and hot, and so very tasty. You are missing out if you don't give this a try. Friendly staff and delicious southern cooking - a winning combo.

Vegetarian options: There is one plant-based dish described on the menu, but I did not try it.

Tried Jamijo’s for the first time today and everything was DELICIOUS! The fish was seasoned so well and fried perfectly and the fried okra was the best I’ve ever had from a restaurant. Will definitely support again!

I had been wanting some fried gizzards for a while now, but every place I go to would be they would be over cooked, tough and an unenjoyable experience. The gizzards at Jamijo’s are DELICIOUS! They’re tender, fried perfectly and seasoned to perfection. I will most definitely be going back for those delicious gizzards.

Stopped in to try the chicken gizzards that I had been hearing about. WOW!!! The best I have Ever put in my mouth. Seasoned great and super tender. You will not regret. Give them a try soon!!!

This is the best home cooked food you can get. The staff is friendly and down to earth and I am ALWAYS pleased with my MEALS!!!! Don’t forget the banana pudding ……

This is the best soul food in Huntsville, AL!!! I want to gate keep and not share this hidden gem, but this wouldn’t be fair not to share. I devoured the fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and collard greens!! I also ordered the chicken gizzards, the most tender I have ever had and fried to perfection!!! I also, got the banana pudding and peace cobbler, grandma level good!! I indulged in very big back activities today and once you have them you will understand why!! So what are you waiting for, get in the car and come on.

I was online searching for a place to eat and I ran across Jamijo’s Southern Cooking. Everything looked pretty good so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the fried chicken with yams and green beans. I also got the peach cobbler and banana pudding. All I can say is oh my goodness, delicious and extremely tasty. My taste buds are still dancing with excitement. Jamijo’s you truly exceeded my expectations. Keep up the good work! Highly recommended!

Set inside the Sunoco gas station with a long table for seating. Order at the bar and then pay at the side island, prices are also updated on the board at the side. The fried chicken and desserts are fire, specials on Mondays are also good.
