I had the worse experience at Pollmans’s bakery on Old Shell . They have the worse customer experience. I placed my order and paid in full on Tuesday, pickup time 8am. This morning at 9:15. No order in and not ready. I was informed that Its not ready and I could come back later to pick it up or go to Broad Street to get it. I came across a rude young lady, Mary and another woman who jumped into the conversation. I asked for a manager and a store credit. She kept talking to someone on the phone. No results.Poor customer service turns customers away. Poor rating .

Their Dobash cake is the most exceptional cake I have ever tasted. I'm addicted to it. I've been all around the world, and the thing that always brings me back to Mobile, Alabama is never being able to find a cake that matches this one. There is something truly unique about it. Which is why I've had it for every single Birthday and Christmas of my life, and probably will for every one until I die.

The pastries ,as usual, were delicious. The business was clean and the workers friendly. The only reason Pollman's on Old Shell received four stars is because it is quite difficult to exit the small parking lot.

I stopped here looking for king cake. They didn’t have any so I got a few petit fours, cupcakes, Peach cobbler and donut holes. I tried the petit fours. They were good and so were the donut holes. However, as we were getting rung up a man standing in the entry door to the back coughed out into the air ? He didn’t have on a mask, furthermore only 1 worker was wearing a mask. The workers really need to have on masks, aprons and hairnets. As they are they do not look professional at all working in a food establishment.
Extremely rude customer service, first time going I was willing to let the incident slide somewhat as it was later in the day and understanding of workers being tired and ready to leave, but this time I could not. Me and my girlfriend were being served, and the lady asked how she could help us, same lady as the first incident, we told her that we'd like to have a chocolate cinnamon roll, and one of their cake squares. This wasn't an issue. The lady begins to actually rush our order yet only 2 people are in line behind us.Then my girlfriend saw a different type of cake squares on a different shelf and location, and due to there being no labels, neither of us knew what they were called and we said we'd like one of these right here, she begins to get rather rude instead of actually looking towards what we are pointing towards. She says what is it you'd like, and we say we think it's a strawberry mini cake? And her response is, with quiet a rude tone, YOU MEAN A STRAWBERRY CAKE SQUARE?! I, as well as my girlfriend were both annoyed so we got our things and left, but didn't leave due to the fact that SHE DIDN'T EVEN GIVE US WHAT WE ASKED FOR. I go back in after realizing that we are missing our strawberry cake square and wait for my turn in line, which happens to be the same exact lady helping again, and I let her know what happened and she begins to even catch an even worse attitude toward me, saying ARE YOU SURE YOURE MISSING THAT, POSITIVE IT ISNT IN THE BAG, and I say no ma'am we did not even have it after asking you for it before even paying. She of course corrects the mistake and I leave the business. I'd rather go to the downtown location that deal with this kind of customer service or behavior ever again. 3 stars only because the decent thing out of our items was the strawberry cake square, everything else was mediocre.

I came in from Atlanta for a family event and thought I would come in and pick up some pecan pies but it turns out the only way you can get a Pecan pie from Pullmans is to order it days in advance. I’ve never known a bakery not to have pies for purchase. Crazy.
