This is one of my favorite places to eat on the road and by far my favorite in Mobile! The food is fresh, flavorful, and affordable. And the staff is always super helpful and friendly! A special shout-out to Ashley, who is always great every time I am in there. Highly recommend this spot.

We were going to go to Noble South, but the darth of diners and an odd dinner menu (Looks like they are trying to hard w/ their menu. It doesn't have to be "Bougie" to be good fellas) kept us strollin' down Dauphin St, right to Rooster's, which a friend had recommended earlier . . .The place was hopping, with a nice mixed crowd and a nice relaxed vibe.Our waitress was polite, professional and did not disappoint. The tacos however, did . . .Small portions, 2-3 ounces, maybe, of the most Caucasian tasting "El Pastor" I've ever had - $5.00 - and a similar "Gulf" shrimp taco - The shrimp were small, underwhelming seasoned and had been cooked way too long . . .The salsa "bar" consisted of three salsa in six speed bottles and a range of bottle hot sauces. Like the tacos, 100% underwhelming . . .The Tamarind Marq was OK, but served in a Tom Collins glass??I had high hopes as Guy Fiere himself was gazing down from the wall as a momento of his visit there . . . Might be time for a "Flavor Town" Reload Dude . . . .

I had lunch at Rooster's. I had the surf and turf burrito which is stuffed with barbacoa beef and Gulf shrimp with guacamole and rice and then covered in a house made queso sauce and topped with chorizo. The beef was wonderfully seasoned and extremely savory, the shrimp was perfectly cooked and its natural brininess gave the perfect salty kick to the burrito while its sweetness was a good counterbalance to the spicy chorizo. It wasn't overly spicy, just warm -- adding to the flavors of the dish without overpowering them. I stopped reading my book and just concentrated on how good the food was. There were no chips and salsa on the table to nibble on, but I didn't miss it. I left pleasantly sated, but not stuffed. Good food, nice place and I met the owner who acted like I was the most important person in Mobile that day.

The food was tasteless, definitely not even close to Latin American food. Very small portions. The service, what service? Atmosphere was alright because the clients made the atmosphere .
The place is good and the service too but unfortunately I ordered a Cuban sandwich and it had nothing to do with what is actually a Cuban sandwich, much less does the quality correspond to the price and also on the menu the price is 14.25 and they charged me 16.50, really I would not return to that place again.
