The Subway in Mt. Vernon is a locally owned establishment and it's in a rural location. The service is decent within regular business hours (8-5 M-F) when all the people from the surrounding plants get their food. I have not had any issues getting a sandwich to order.
This is a great place to eat. I have been here more than once and like the food. I got a tuna whole wheat sandwich with spinach, tomatoes, green peppers, black olives, pepper jack cheese and dressing. I recently got an Italian bread sandwich with salami and all the other things I had in the tuna sandwich except tuna. I bought bottled water once which is refrigerated and liked it. This last time I got the vitamin water from the soda machine and liked it. You can't get free...
