“This was my first time trying this restaurant. I went with a few friends from work. It was delicious! I had the hamburger steak and gravy with mashed potatoes and green beans. Also, the caramel coconut pie was to die for! I will definitely be coming back again!“

“In Alabama on business, and on our way back south from Huntsville, we discovered Galen's. Since its my name, just had to stop by. Very friendly southern family hole in the wall (and I don't mean this in a bad way at all). Food was good and the staff was great.“

“Very laid back and comfortable atmosphere. My family had the burgers, huge side of turnip greens, and smoked chicken.I can 100% recommend the burgers, amazing! Found out about them and had them 3 times in one week……Better than Bad Daddy’s burgers for sure.Ask for the train to be turned on which hangs from the ceiling and instantly rekindle some childhood memories!“

“My mom and I had lunch there today! Everything was perfect! The service was great, the food was great. The catfish was cooked perfect, the chicken and dumplings were great. The black eye peas and turnip greens reminded me of my grandmother cooking! I will definitely be back next time I’m in Huntsville“

“First time visiting. They're located inside the Texaco. I arrived shortly after opening, and it was already busy. The food was pretty good, fresh, and seasoned well. I particularly enjoyed the mac & cheese and ribs. I had my mouth set on trying the greens and ordered a side of those, but I received an extra side of queso mac instead. Didn't realize it until I left. I plan to return and try some of their other items.“

“We sat outside and enjoyed a really good brunch of avocado toast, green tomatoes with pimento cheese, impossible and regular burgers and salmon bowls. All delicious. Service was good ( although the waitstaff were overheard at the bar which had customers seated there complaining about elderly customers and how they made their jobs difficult with the manner in which they ordered food.) That was a bit off-putting as such conversations shouldn't take place in that location. Anyway, overall I would go there even though the waitstaff didn't particularly like the customers. The outside option was great!“

“On our way back from Arab we stopped by Mawmaw's Diner for homemade country cooking. Lunch specials were meatloaf and 2 sides or bbq chicken with 2 sides. We ordered 1 of each plus 2 double cheeseburgers. Their double cheeseburgers are hand patted and huge. Those were for supper. We have them delivered to the table so they cool down and then we pack them up to go. Last night at 8:30 after hubs finished working on redoing the deck, I heated the two double cheeseburgers and they were delicious!!! Our lunch specials were tasty as always and we took our leftovers home. If you are in the Laceys Spring area, please stop by for good homemade food.“

“This chain is one of my favorite places to eat in Town. This was one of the subpar ones but only compared to some of the others I have eaten at. The food was still good just not great which is sad for the price. I would try another one in town since they are better in my experience.“

“Had to go to Alabama and seen this restaurant and stopped in. Flavorful barbecue, there red sauce was sweet and tangy. There sides were good as well. The staff was warm and friendly. The only thing, I didn't care for their nachos, I thought they were dry. I like liquid nacho cheese on mine and they use shredded cheese. But I did enjoy it and I will go back next time I'm in Alabama.“
