Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Great meal at Pelham, Al restaurant. Service was attentive and pleasant. Chicken fried perfectly.

Since we were a little early for dinner, we took advantage of the early bird menu. The home style chicken was crispy and delicious while the chicken and dumplings were tasty. Our server was very attentive.

Stopped here to have breakfast before we got back on the highway. The parking lot was half empty as was the dining room. We were seated quickly and the waitress took our order pretty quickly. As we were waiting for our food the dining room was filling up fast, we waited 45 minutes for our food at which point the waitress came and told us she accidentally imputed our order as fried chicken instead of chicken fried steak, but that the food was ready in the back so we said just bring what's ready. After another 30 minutes she brought the food and everything was cold. The chicken was only a lump of breast meat and the promised biscuits with gravy were missing. The eggs accompanying the order were over cooked and thoroughly cooled. Sad disappointing experience that resulted in us going to another restaurant and taking the cracker barrel meat and eggs home for the dog. Maybe go further up the road if you crave stopping here...
