Extremely Disappointed – Serious Concerns About Cleanliness and Food Safety

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at the Purple Onion Deli and Grill Restaurant was concerning enough that I felt compelled to speak up. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place to anyone due to the visibly unsanitary conditions and what appeared to be careless mishandling of food.

During my visit, I noticed food being prepared and served without proper hygiene measures. Employees were handling ingredients without gloves and moving between tasks without washing their hands. I also observed unclean surfaces in both the dining area and food prep areas, which raised major red flags.

What should have been a pleasant dining experience quickly turned into one of discomfort and concern. If food safety and cleanliness matter to you—and they should—then I suggest looking elsewhere. I hope the management takes immediate steps to address these health and sanitation issues, as this establishment has potential but is currently falling far short of basic expectations.

WOW, was this great! Just traveling through and in town for a week, saw this place and thought we'd check it out. I had the sampler platter and my mom had the shrimp kabobs. Everything was amazing!! With the exception of gyros and baklava, I haven't had much Mediterranean food... I'm not even sure what was what on that sampler lol. Separately, it was yummy, but then I started putting bites together and dang near polished the whole thing off myself because it was so deliciousI couldn't stop. Plus, that baklava was to die for! I've had a lot of baklava in my 43 years, but that was the best I ever ate by a long shot.

And the staff was so pleasant and helpful too! If I ever find myself back in town, we'll definitely return.

The owners are incredibly friendly. The service is like you would expect from a mom and pop restaurant. Their burgers are made to order using real ground beef hand made patties. They have a decent vegetarian menu as well.

The turkey melt, chicken finger plate and in house made honey mustard are all amazing!

Always great! We love the plates, burgers! We eat here about twice a month. We drive from McCalla to eat at this location. It reminds me of the food in Tarpon Springs, Florida where I lived in Greek community.

Can be a little hard to communicate properly with the staff sometimes but a good experience been going here a long time.

Expansive menu ranging from various burgers to falafel, gyros, roll ups, and various Mediterrrean plates, hicken fingera, potatoes, baklava and desserts. Lots to chose from. Service is prompt and friendly. Drive through available.
The restuarant interior could benefit from an update, but that is a minor item.

Vegetarian options: There are options here for vegetarians.

Parking: Parking is available, not an issue.

This was the best burger I have had since coming back to the metro area.
The staff were so courteous, food was not only delicious but hot off the grill & fries just out the frier.
Will go back & tell others. Priced Satisfactorily!
