Ann’s Back in the Day Cafe offers amazing food and amazing customer service in a pleasant, warm, and clean atmosphere. The owner, Ms. Ann, greets customers, serves customers, and addresses anything that needs attention, making guests feel at home. The restaurant is clean with a warm, friendly atmosphere, and the staff is welcoming and nice. The food is served cafeteria style, with generous portions. The heavenly, homemade Mac and Cheese is perfect, and the steamed cabbage is the best ever. The fried chicken is equally superb, and the meatloaf is the best ever had. The strawberry cake, bread pudding, peach cobbler, and red velvet cake were to die for, everything homemade and perfect. The service is above and beyond, with a waitress calling customers "baby" and making them feel spoiled. Each table is beautifully set with placemats, cloth napkins, and fresh flowers. The food was good, just a bit more than expected, and guests should get there early because they may run out of what you want. One issue was that the chicken was cold, but the restaurant is still recommended. Great Sunday brunch is offered, with Chef Johnny's waffles making a son's day. Highly recommended for a meal that feels like home.
