Tate's Bar-B-Que Reviews
It's a one man show so if it's busy you will have to wait but he takes orders first come first serve. The large bar-b-qu sandwiches for $6.25 are more than enough to fill you up and are delicious. Onion rings are also excellent. This is my go to so can't report on much else. Location is a small building with a drive up window and walk up window. Two small picnic tables out front. Locals know about this place and they can run out of que at times, it's that good.
Classic roadside BBQ shack. Good food. Good value. Try the fried pies.

Tate's Bar-B-Que is a popular spot for smoked meat lovers. The restaurant offers prompt service, with the option to park and walk to a sheltered window or drive-thru. The BBQ is amazing, with perfectly made sandwiches, sweet potato fries, and onion rings. The meat has flavor, and the Carolina-style vinegar-based sauce is a favorite among regulars. While the hours can be limited and not always followed, the smoke flavor is exceptional, making it a true hole-in-the-wall gem. Customers love their BBQ, especially the BBQ sandwich, which they say is the best they’ve had, with a perfect combo of bun, pork, pickles, slaw, and sauce. The restaurant also offers fried pies, with flavors like chocolate and apple that are highly praised. The side dishes are well-liked, with beans and potato salad being good choices. It’s a drive-through BBQ that’s been around for many years in a plain building, but what matters most is the food inside. The atmosphere is simple, but the quality of the food keeps customers coming back, making Tate’s a beloved local favorite.
