“Great food and friendly people”

“This business was started years ago when my grandparents built if from the ground up,, my grand dad built wood boats that was rented at the fish camp many years ago,, my grand mother started the restaurant where I can remember her buying hamburger meat and making her fresh and daily hamburgers back then everything was fresh daily,, the store was located just over from where it is now because the water was backed up and they had to move it,, the cabins were mostly rented on the weekends,, come Sundays we would help my grandmother clean them ready for the next person,, we had a small "Johnson maybe 5 horsepower boat motor" on the boat she let us go out riding mostly just right in front of the camp (with life jackets on) we would fish from the pier catch fish no bigger than your hand,, my grandmother always cooked our fish for us sometimes all bones and eyes but she cooked them for us,, even with the selling the fish camp to others outside our family,, we have always lived in Shelby which is just maybe less than 5 miles away maybe less,, my dad loved fishing my parents put a mobile home on my mom's land joining the fish camp we would go down there and stay ( even just that short distance between we would do this) my mother still owned land beside the camp which she rented lots out on and my family still owns this,, , my grandparents and parents are all gone now but mom's land has been passed down 4 generations now and will continue to be passed on years to come,, I'm sorry this is so so long but when I came across this I could not pass it up without sharing just a few memories that I have made at this place just a few memories but there's so many,, thanks for letting me share ❤️ Kathy Cox”

“Amazing coffee and food. We stopped in for breakfast and I had a croissant with ham, egg and cheese with a Black Forest (mocha & coconut) iced coffee. The staff were friendly too! We actually came back in the afternoon and I tried the grilled cheese with basil tomato soup which was also excellent! We will definitely be back!”

“My 3 sisters and I stopped for lunch today on our way home from Guntersville. I had the chopped smoked chicken...absolutely delicious! The meat was so moist and tender. I even ordered "to go" to bring home. The service was great. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal!”

“We ordered a cake for my mom’s 80th birthday. The cake was beautiful and the taste was amazing!!! Words cannot express how much we appreciate the flavor of REAL ICING! AND A MOIST CAKE!!! Such a difference from fondant or a whipped topping. Highly recommend ordering your next cake from Girl Friday!! Thank you very much!! ❤️”

“I come here very often. The staff is always super nice. Very helpful. They have a drive-thru pickup window that you don't have to get out of your car which I use a wheelchair so it's a lot easier on me. It is usually not busy and even when it is super fast usually within a minute or two. they make it seem like I'm actually welcome and they enjoy helping without making it seem as I am a inconvenience. Even times there are mistakes heres a example there was one time that my pizza was semi cold basically from the driver delivering they are always very professional about it and help they remade that pizza and gave me a order of marble cookies! A lot of times I bring my dog and they are always super excited to see her and her dark purple nail polish they always give her a little thing with a couple of treats I didn't even know was available. I absolutely love this dominos would recommend!! 11/10 ??”

“This was my first time stopping and I got a double burger and fries which were fast and fresh and the new mac & cheese that had chicken and bacon in it was excellent. Both boys got chicken tenders and fries and the new mac & cheese. Everyone was pleased a little pricey, but competitive with any other place, that’s like it they just have better food than your average McDonald’s or fast food”

“This is the most clean subway in this big area. They have 98 in the cleaning inspection! And the staff is super nice and they keep the entire place very clean and organize.”

“The service was great but the cheesy bread had a slight aftertaste to it. It was good though. Just had that one slight issue. There is no seating available. Ots delivery/carryout ”

“I always go through the drive-thru at this locations. Employees are not overly friendly, however, the food is always good (and correct) so I'm not complaining.”

“I had the BEST experience at this Subway. It was so AMAZING to be treated like they really wanted me there. The store was very clean. I even had to use the restroom and it too was very clean and stocked.

I have not been to any Subway in a long because all the others were dirty and the staff treated me and my family like we interfered with their day.

My visit today 8-27-25 at 12:51 pm was so wonderful that I just had to share this.”

“There was an older woman with her hair braided on the back of her head, in there tonight on 5/19/25 at 7:45pm and I just wanted to say yall need to give that woman a raise. She had amazing customer service. She was extremely kind. She makes that store great to be at. Greets with smiles! She needs a promotion or something bc she really just made my night. Such a kind woman! I will be returning and hoping she is there!”

“Pretty average fast food restaurant. Food was ok, service was ok, the place could have been cleaner but it wasn't filthy. It was busy and there were several small children screaming. That's just my bad luck that they came in when I got my food. If I had walked in and heard that I would have turned around and gone somewhere else.”
