I got a French Dip sandwich. They had to go back to get the dip and sandwich was ice cold. Not handicapped friendly either. First and last time there!Wheelchair accessibility: Not handicapped friendly either. There was no room to manage a wheelchair without people having to get up from their tables to move so a chair could be pushed through.

This is one of those restaurants you tell all your friends about. I brought my parents here for lunch and they loved it. The environment is unmatched with breath-taking artwork adorning every wall and servers that treat you better than family. If you can find your wits after appreciating where you’ve chose to eat, you should eat. My favorite is the crawfish etouffe, but my parents enjoyed the shrimp and grits, and the oyster po’boy. All three though deserve to be ordered. Please don’t just take my word for it check it out. Hands down my favorite restaurant in Alabama.Parking: It’s on the square so parking is hit or missKid-friendliness: Family environment with high chairs providedWheelchair accessibility: No stairs

First: Another non-franchised restaurant. Very good for Troy. Support our local restaurants!Food: Swamp Hog was very close to delicious. It was excellent. Great Cajun influence with a hearty piece of meat! Boudin Balls were extremely good. However, we sampled the Crawfish cheese dip. There is potential with this, but there was really nothing Cajun about it. There was crawfish in the dip, but was not woven into the dish as a whole. Perhaps add some light Cajun to the cheese, and ensure there is crawfish in every bite (not an entire crawfish, but maybe chopped). The ribeye looked huge and delicious. I will be returning for it.

The gumbo was really good. Their drinks are also freshly made instead of using mixes so it’s well worth it. The service was great and the owner made it a point to come speak to me and make sure everything was perfect.

Returned again last evening to meet out of state hunters. Bayou was slammed, full house, lively crowd. Again, worth the wait. Fried catfish sublime!

Amazing all around. We tried several items- red beans and rice, ribeye, baked potatoe, burger, coleslaw, swamp fries, and a slice of cheesecake. Cajun meets American style... in my opinion anyways. All the food had a wonderful flavor profile. Best burger we have had in the area. Ribeye was blackened and cooked to perfection. Their swamp fries had a shredded beef on top that was TO DIE FOR. I only wish it had more beef. (We had leftovers at the end of the night, so thats me just obsessed with the flavor) Price point was fantastic. Waitress' were amazing and accommodating. I have been staying away from gluten so getting to eat stuff other than salad in a restaurant was awesome. We also tried a couple drinks from the bar. Served in beautiful glassware made the drinks even better.Stellar.We will be back.

Not impressed at all with the staff. Brought my to go food out, apologized for not having to go bags and I had to carry my hot food to the car hoping I wouldn’t drop it due to the heat. Not welcoming at all or happy to see me as a customer.

We have been twice now. Food is great. Only thing I wish they would do is make their own fries instead of curly fries that I'm pretty sure are frozen.Service during lunch was slow. They weren't very attentive and it took 15 minutes before someone stopped to take our drink order. Staff kept walking outside and coming back in.I was expecting a fun, Mardi Gras or modern, Cajun creole decor and it was neither. I hope they redecorate to make the place more memorable. Uncle Micks in Prattville and Cajun Corner in Eufaula are memorable because of the atmosphere AND food.

Had lunch at the “Roux” yesterday and it was fantastic! I had the gumbo and it was spicy, but not overly hot. The serving was more than I could finish. My husband had the blackened Po Boy and said it was great. The atmosphere is relaxed, the servers helpful, and the prices reasonable. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!

The Gumbo is good and that's coming from someone whom lived in Louisiana for a few years. Can't wait to try more on the menu!
