The menu was not the typical Moes menu, b/c What’s Moe’s without chicken fingers? and the bartender “goes there to work, not eat” so he couldn’t answer any questions.. save your time and go elsewhere. If you are in Mobile, however, Moe’s is 💯 (I was wearing Troy gear, not South)

This place definitely doesn't deserve the 3.9-star rating (as of 9/21/2025). They have a nice back patio, the food was good, and the service was good. I was never very excited about Hook's, so I'm glad this place showed up. My pulled pork sandwich (Alabama style) was really good. The boudin balls (one of the special sides the day I went) were great, the Mac n cheese was really good, not the boring box mac that most places seem to serve. The banana pudding was okay. It was pudding with one nilla wafer on the bottom and one on top. No bananas in it (which my wife actually prefers). This will be my bbq place in Troy.

The ribs were very salty, but the side veggies were great! We were greeted by a nice young woman who stepped from the back to take our order while another employee was helping a delivery driver. She asked us to step in the bar to order at the register.
However, the atmosphere left a lot to be desired.The bartender was, to put it mildly, unprofessional. Every other word out of her mouth was profanity, and she wasn’t just speaking—she was practically shouting. At one point, she launched into a story about serving a group of men and some bushwa let drinks. We certainly didn’t need to hear while trying to enjoy a meal.
I understand that some barbecue spots embrace a casual, down-home vibe, but there’s a fine line between laid-back and downright inappropriate. If management is reading this, I’d suggest reminding the staff that guests come for the food and the atmosphere—not a profanity-laced performance from behind the bar.
Would I return? Maybe for takeout, but if dining in, I’d hope for a more welcoming and professional experience.

We've been here a few times now and have mostly enjoyed the food. My favorites include the pulled pork, turkey, cornbread, and boudin balls. I do wish they had other sauce options, but the Moe's BBQ sauce is ok. If you come in the evening, especially on weekends, expect that they will be out of some things.

We came in today around 2:30 and went up to the counter to order only to be turned away, saying they are no longer serving food. Of course that’s disappointing, but what made it upsetting is the attitude we were given during. Things happen, but this place really needs to work on their customer service. The food is actually decent, at least in comparison to what we tend to have in Troy. We’ve come in a few times and left satisfied.
Went for the first time today. The girl working the counter wasn’t the friendliest, but no big deal, everyone is entitled to a bad day. Ordered the fried catfish, baked beans, and Mac and Cheese. Plus 3 wings. Minus the Mac and cheese, everything was extremely salty. She had the smoked Turkey, greens, and fried. Again, all salty with the exception of the greens. We couldn’t hardly eat it. (Which sucks for 40 dollars). So we took it home and tried it for dinner. Well the fridge made it even more powerful. It went in the garbage. And I DO NOT throw food away. Salt can be added at the table to accommodate the person’s taste. But when it’s over applied in batter, or during cooking you cannot take it out. I will say the presentation was impressive. But the salt absolutely killed it.

This was the first time and definitely the last time we will be going there. We were definitely disappointed to say the least. We spent 40 for two people and don’t eat half of it. I ordered the chicken sandwich. I am blind in one eye and it was extremely dark in there. I too k one bite of the sandwich and I didn’t care for the taste of the slaw and the sauce they used. I asked to try the red sauce which was too sweet and salty for me and I got the white sauce. I ordered squash casserole and Mac and cheese. The squash casserole was extremely salty and I couldn’t eat it. The only thing I ate was the Mac and cheese. I took everything home and when I got home my old man was going to eat my chicken sandwich and he noticed the chicken was still bloody. When we arrived home I noticed another problem. I use the upside app to earn cash back. On the app it says Moes is a participant in upside and would give 3 % back. I know to you 3 % is not much but with the app every bit adds up. It has the correct address for Moes on the app. I went to use the app and then my bank card was charged double 40 dollars. One from Moes and one from Moes via upside. I went to moes the next day and they would not reimburse anything they said goto the bank. They said if you would have complained there they would have fixed the sandwich. I wouldn’t have been able to see the bloody Chicken in the dark place. Thank goodness I only took one bite. My question is shouldn’t it have been noticed by the employee that tore the chicken up and threw it on a bun. Please be careful with eating there.

Went there yesterday 12-1-24. Spent $40 for a chicken sandwich, fish sandwich and four sides. We had macaroni, two sides of squash casserole, and potato salad. The chicken was bloody and raw, the squash casserole was too greasy and salty to eat and the potato salad was obviously something bought from a store and had a scoop of. Got home and realized we got double charged. Went to try to get refunded for the false charge and was refused refund. Also made comments about the problems and didnt feel as though they really cared. The bank is taking care of the money issue from the extra $40 even though it could be 3-90 days. We was there for my mom's birthday and she couldn't even eat her fries because they was to salty. Definitely will never go back. Horrible food, service, etc.
