I went to a Whataburger in El Paso, Texas and was left the worst taste in my mouth (literally) and nearly swore them off altogether. While driving through Tuscaloosa on my way to New Orleans I decided to stop off and grab something to eat. I saw this location and made the decision to give them one more try. I'm happy I did. To think that the Whataburger in Alabama would be better than in Texas is insane to me...but it's also true. Large and clean inside and the employees I spoke to were all helpful and friendly.
I got a double cheeseburger meal with fries and a drink and got the regular ketchup as well as their spicy ketchup for the fries. The first thoughts from the burger was that it was heavy on mustard. I personally enjoy mustard so that wasn't a big deal for me but if you don't...order it lite or on the side. I ended up dipping both the burger and the fries in the spicy ketchup by the end of it. I enjoyed the flavor of the spicy ketchup a lot but depending on your tolerance, you may not find it very spicy. I found it to have zero heat personally. The fries were crispy and tasty, definitely salted but not to the point that it was too much. They also had zero sugar lemonade and unsweetened iced tea so I was able to make a no sugar Arnold Palmer and that made me happy.
I'd stop here again for sure. THIS Whataburger location - Didn't Suck!

Placed an online order at 11:17pm and did not receive it until 11:43 It was originally for pickup but the doors were locked so I got in the drive thru line. There was only one person in line in front of us and still did not get my order until 30 minutes after I placed it. It took so long that people behind me left the line until no one was there. At around 11:42 I was told they did not have sweet tea, and asked if I wanted a different drink. Very disappointing. The food is good enough to not give it a one star but still very frustrating.
Edit: they also had a tomato on my sandwich after I asked for no tomato

I placed an online order at 12:49 AM. I didn’t receive my order until approximately 1:15 AM because Mr. Tinker and one of his employees kept telling me that they couldn’t find my order. Once Mr. Willie Tinker did find my order, he argued with me about how he didn’t see my online order even though I continuously showed him the electronic receipt that was in my email. He was basically trying to insinuate that I was lying despite me having proof of my online order. Afterwards, I went to my car and proceeded to start eating my food when I noticed that an ingredient was missing from my sandwich, so I took the sandwich back into the restaurant to inform Mr. Tinker that an ingredient was missing from my sandwich. He then told me to give him the bag of food, and while I was handing the bag to him, he snatched the bag out of my hand. I didn’t react to him snatching the bag out of my hand, but I did tell the female employee who he was being nasty towards that I was going to write a review based off of my bad experience with Mr Tinker. Also, while I was waiting to receive my food, I saw and heard Mr. Willie Tinker talking to one of his own female employees and other customers disrespectfully, rudely, and nastily. As a customer, I really didn’t appreciate Mr. Tinker’s behavior, unprofessionalism, and bad customer service. I like Whataburger, but I don’t think I will be returning to this location due to this terrible experience as well as how bad the online ordering system is.

Not even sure where to start. Staff wasn’t prepared to handle crowd after an Alabama football game. We were in the drive through for 45 minutes, employees were incredibly hard to hear, understand and disorganized, any only part of our order was (eventually) handed to us. Tried to go inside to get the rest, but couldn’t get a worker’s attention. Finally parked back near the drive thru until a worker came out and said she had an extra bag of food and it must be the rest of our order? Sp the food was cold by the time we ate, which was an hour after first entered the drive thru to this “fast” food restaurant. No apology or even acknowledgement of any problem. Price was the same we usually pay for Chick Fil A, so save your time and sanity and just go there instead.

This place used to be really good but today was beyond disappointing. I waited about 45 minutes for my order to come out because they forgot my order, which is somewhat understandable since the restaurant was packed, but I was not happy with the fact that they didn't give an ounce of apology. Instead, I was told to either stand and wait or sit at my table for my order to come out.
If that wasn't bad enough I noticed weird black substance smeared on the side of my bun halfway through eating :(
I don't think I'll be coming back to this location again.

went through drive through. they had two lanes open but only took orders in one so we sat there while we watched three cars next to us go by. needs fixing.

The rationale was (1) it’s been a long day and I’m ready to go to sleep, (2) Waffle House is the only other spot open and it’s 3 minutes farther away and (3) I’ve never had a Whataburger burger.
Verdict: It’s below average fast food but conveniently open all ungodly hours of the night. I won’t eat again unless I’m sufficiently destitute. We had the bacon something and the bacon avocado. (Kudos to them for having avocado) The food was edible fast food, better than Burger King for sure. Ok, I did enjoy the fries. But not enough to prevent me from swearing of this place for the foreseeable future.
