“In a town full of BBQ joints, this one stands out alone. Simple. Delicious. Affordable. This place keeps the menu and the food simple in the best possible way. They know what they do and they knock it out of the park.The owner is very friendly and while the "atmosphere" of the restaurant is far from fancy, I will be ordering food from here every time I'm in Mobile, I can promise you that.If you're coming here to sit down and eat, don't expect anything fancy. Folding tables and canned drinks. Here, it's all about the meat, and frankly, that's all that matters when it's this good.“

“We had brunch this morning. The food was delicious and the service was great. Such a sweet spot near the Saenger and Haunted Book Shop. We will be back for lunch and dinner.“

“got the pulled pork sandwich. meat had ZERO flavor and was as dry as boomer humor. the seasoning sauce was water scared with garlic powder. potato salad was disrespectfully disgusting. banana pudding was watery and the bananas were black. green beans were dumped from a can and had less seasoning than printer paper. Mac and cheese was essentially just pasta in a cheese water sauce and the atrocity of what they dare to call sweet tea was an insult to all southerners. get a better staff too. they carried a conversation and it was quite clear they wanted to keep talking when I was approaching. the lady at the pickup register talked over me and was obviously annoyed to be at work.“

“In my opinion, today’s food was awful. My grill quarters that I purchased as a take home meal was still pink on the inside as if it was rushed on the grill. They were out of a few items on menu. Lastly, what makes the taste of the chicken is the sauce that wasn’t even placed in the bag. I have had better but it was something about today. However, my son’s ribs in his opinion were burnt and just wasn’t good. I will return in hopes that the food is better.“

“Had the special pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and what not on it and it was really good. The pulled pork was a little dry but the coleslaw and sauce overshadowed that.
Fries had really good flavor and perfect consistency.
The banana pudding was great. You can tell it's made fresh probably daily, I assume, because the cookies still had a little crunch to them.

“I always get the whole slab of bbq ribs with the whole bbq chicken and two sides. I eat like a Queen for a week. Food is always delicious, fresh, and the side order of greens are mouth watering good, and well seasoned.
I have never been disappointed......you ought to come on and try Rodger's.“

“We went Friday night for dinner and have not been here in forever. Actually, we don't go to sit-down restaurants often as we are more grab and go people. But we wanted a good steak and nice night out and thought we would give it a shot. I wish I could give 10-stars. We ordered several appetizers and a couple entrees and every dish was delicious. And our steak did not disappoint, perfectly cooked and very tasty. But I think the best part of our evening was the service. And not just from our server, Carli but the everyone we encountered was just wonderful. I wont go into all the details, but they made our night very special and we will not forget it. THANK YOU“

(Now - Nov.2020) I will never visit this place again. I wish we had the same service we had months ago because no matter how nice we were, the eye rolls and attitudes from the waitress were not necessary. There is more than one steakhouse in Mobile and restaurants are closing every day!“
