The Dixie Pig is my all-time favorite BBQ place, beginning from the early 60's when we visited my grandmother and met long time family friends there. We always looked forward to The Pig...finally got the chance to take my kids there a few years ago so they could experience The Pig, and even got to see my dad's pictures on the wall from his high school glory days! I wish I were closer so I could drop by more often!

Not just THE BEST BBQ but great fish, spaghetti.
The sides are as awesome. Homemade Onion Rings! Blanched Fries! The fried okra is incredible.. whodathunkit?

Based on the reviews, The Dixie Pig is a real, hometown, regionally specific barbecue place that has been in business for around 103 years. It feels really homey inside and has the vibe of a BBQ house. The food is good, as is the service. The sauce is described as a tangy vinegar loop, like Arthur Bryant’s and Carolina style combined. The hand cut fries are just like Arthur Bryant’s. Customers recommend the pulled pork sandwich with BBQ sauce, which is a must-get. The small pork plate, served with a mix of chopped and pulled pork, is absolutely fabulous and filling. A small cup of beans on the side is full of flavor and tender. The homemade blue cheese dressing is tops, and the homemade tartar sauce is so good that one customer wished they bought some to take to go. The catfish breading was great, and the double cheeseburger is very good. The restaurant does rib specials on Wednesday and Thursday and catfish specials. The Dixie Pig is an all-time favorite BBQ place, and customers will definitely be back. It is a few miles off the interstate.
