Dropped in for a tamale Tuesday. I'm really glad I did! Had both the pork and the sweet potato tamales. They had great flavor with some subtle heat from the fresh jalapeno slices. What blew me away was the smoky pinto beans. Just try 'em. Had a classic margarita to top it off. Anxious to go back and try so many other things. Great eats. Mount provided exceptional service too. 👏 👏

Portions are very small and expensive. Tortillas are made of flour so the tacos are bland. Drinking cups for water are covered in residue as well as silverware they look dirty. I understand the food isn’t authentic but you are better off going to local lime. Smokey beans taste like they were poured out of a can and sprinkled with bacon flavor and liquid smoke.

As summer approaches the temperature in the restaurant increases and it was hot at the bar - servers were sweating. Large ceilings fans to help circulate air might benefit guests and workers.

The food was good, the service was ok, but it was so loud that it was almost unbearable. I know it's not the restaurant's fault necessarily but we couldn't enjoy our time with our friends because we could barely hear them from across the table. I would go back but maybe at a less busy time. The fajitas were delicious though.

Salsa is not free and if you buy it comes in little cups too small for a chip. Out of unsweetened tea - really? No knives - waiter spilled water on a coworker. Bar code parking hastle. Food was okay, but I've had better Mexican from a good food truck. This place is a racket - go someplace else

Leilani is as our service and absolutely fabulous! Super friendly. Constantly checking on us. Great menu advice. Definitely stop by and see her!

Here’s a polished review you could post:

Tacos & Tamales has a lot going for it. The food is consistently good, the service is friendly and attentive, and their happy hour is one of the best deals in Fayetteville—especially when they run specials on the guacamole and queso.

That said, there are a couple of issues that management really needs to address.

First, the west-facing windows desperately need blinds or shades. During dinner hours, the setting sun pours directly into the dining room, creating a harsh glare that can make it almost unenjoyable to eat. It’s a simple improvement that would dramatically enhance the customer experience.

Second, the women’s restroom has a faucet that constantly leaks. I mentioned it to our server, who said it had been running nonstop for at least a week and that management had not yet addressed it. In a time when water conservation should be a priority, allowing a faucet to continuously waste water is disappointing and irresponsible.

Overall, the food and service keep us coming back, but these facility and maintenance issues detract from an otherwise positive experience. Fayetteville establishments should know better and do better when it comes to basic upkeep and resource stewardship.

Bar staff is always amazing!!
Some of the evening management have been seen just standing around when there was just one bartender on duty.
Glassware was stacked up and bartender could have used a help.

We loved eating here, but got a ticket for picking up a Togo order. Unfortunately we will not be back because of the parking issues.
