Pet friendly covered outdoor seating! Very friendly staff. We had brunch, and both our lunch and breakfast type food was great. Unfortunately they were out of a couple things, but even so our food was very good.

Customer service is not good, was told it was going to be a 30 minute wait and that they would have to split my party. So we said ok, and waited 45 minutes and then I went to check and the hostess acted annoyed, after an hour we finally got a split table. Even though we didn’t get to sit together, I said that I was going to pay and would get the ticket. I was holding my 1 and a half year old who was a little wild after the long wait. The reason I took my family and friends here was I’d eaten there a few years back and it was the best French toast I’ve ever had, well I’m not sure what changed but now it’s ok but not like it was, the eggs Benedict was still really good and everyone enjoyed their breakfast but we weren’t offered refills until we were all done and about to leave. I asked for the ticket because by now my baby was ready to go, it had taken close to 2 hours. We tipped really well in cash and left. I later was looking at the receipt and noticed that they added a 20% gratuity after tax, which actually makes it over 23%. Plus there was an alcohol tax for some reason when we didn’t order any alcoholic drinks. We ate on Sunday and left town. I called multiple times on Monday to finally get ahold of a manager to see about getting cash back on my credit card for the gratuity since we generously tipped in cash. After telling the manager Sam the situation, she told me it was posted on the menu and that I was out of luck and laughed at me. All in all the tip was over a hundred dollars for really lousy customer service and food that wasn’t as good as it used to be. We won’t be back and wanted to warn others so that you don’t have the same problems, because the management isn’t going to be much help. One last thing, half the prices on my receipt are more expensive than the prices on their online menu.

Food was delicious. Cheesy grits just a little too cheesy for my liking, but still great! I loved the old style building. Service needs work. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed for only having 3 tables and very much distracted maybe??

Charming historic property & delightful service but food quality inconsistent since pandemic. Blueberry pancakes delish, sausage tough & left on plate. Husband pronounced ‘terrible’ & he’s like Mikey - usually eats anything. I had two perfect fried eggs with crispy whites & set ‘just so’ without half the egg running across my plate. My biscuit was heavy, a bit doughy - lacking the tender crumb & flavorful crust. Although well browned, it would seem they were leftover too long from breakfast. Husband said coffee wasn’t hot. I sent a bowl of grits back that were barely ‘south of room temp’. Told they have no microwave, so a bit of a wait to put them back in a pan but were brought back steaming hot. I was surprised at the consistency of grits being soupy, rather than creamy & the seasoning was savory, which is fine but spicy enough for a bit of mouth burn 🤷♀️. Southeners generally expect cheesier & not overwhelmingly savory. I was hoping for the gooey Gouda goodness that Satellite Cafe in LR was famous for but a bit more balance would be great or be sure diners get a heads-up when an establishment ventures out for a unique presentation. Nailing the consistency BEST used to have would restore their 5 star rating for us. Its such a gem!! Plz don’t let it slide.

We went here during our girls trip weekend. Our waitress Addyson was so sweet! She answered all our questions - and there were a lot! The food was incredible. The only small negative: when we first arrived, there was no hostess for about 5 minutes. When the hostess did arrive, she was eating.

Didn't eat at the cafe. Stayed at the Best Court Cottage, will stay there again. Room was spacious, clean and very accommodating. Close to downtown, we walked.
