This place is not how it used to be. I ordered a two piece fish dinner and it was not fresh at all. Mac & cheese was sour. I could smell the sour smell as soon as I opened the container. French fries were not cooked all the way. The manager was unpleasant when I called to discuss the matter with him. He replied that this is how they make food now and refused to assist me.I do not advise dining here, however if you do, be aware that your meal may not be fully cooked.

Ordered 3fish & 3shrip dinner, food was good. Was charged 1.99 for a medium cup of water. We will not return for a second visit.

Food was fresh and hot. They are selling Swai Fish which is "Asian catfish" very disappointed because they mislead you with some of their signage because supposedly they sell whole catfish. Over seasoned but it was crispy. You can taste the difference and the real fish eaters know what I'm talking about. So if youre expecting US farm raised catfish....this is not the place to visit!!The exterior of the building almost looked abandoned with bushes and shrubs not trimmed. The inside was fairly clean but dated. One of those places to go if you're hungry and willing to eat anything fried.

Don't go. The fish wasn't bad, its hard to mess up fired catfish. The okra was good. The weird part They asked if we wanted cocktail sauce or tartar. We said both, they came in packets like ketchup. so they were terrible. Asked for lemon, that also came in a packet. You would think a fish place would make their own sauces. At least have a fresh lemon. Not a very good part of town but that didn't bother us. The place was clean but I wouldn't recommend it to. anyone

Shrimp po' boy was good. Only fries are offered as a side and were over cooked. Staff was friendly but had us locked in when we were ready to go. Fire marshal may not like that. $14.99 was a bit steep for a decent sandwich, burnt fries and a fountain soda.

We could tell from the reviews and from the location that this place was going to be a dive which was what we were looking for. Located near the track - totally fits the neighborhood and the food exceeded our expectations. Had the daily special 2 piece catfish with 2 sides. I was a little worried it would not be enough. Usually 2 pieces of catfish just is not enough. To be honest - I have never seen pieces of catfish that big. The catfish was so delicate. It was fried so crisp, the breading had a lot of flavor and the fish was very moist - perfectly cooked. Nothing annoys me more than overcooked fish. I don't think I have ever had better and have eaten my share in my day. Also had the red beans and rice which had an authentic N'Orlins flavor. So good. I had leftovers. So- another lunch tomorrow! So excited. Will definitely be back. There were some reviews calling the place dirty. It was not. It does appear dated and well worn. Could use a facelift. I have a lot of ideas about that...But it is a dive - so....

Overpriced and not the best food. My daughter loves mac-n-cheese and wouldn't eat it. Crabcakes were mainly cake with very little crab. Sister got a sandwich which she liked. For what we got, it cost $98. I understand inflation and I don't mind paying for quality food but was not impressed. I don't usually like leaving reviews but this one needed one to help people on a budget.

Food always good but management questionable. Be sure and not ask for substitution due to food allergy. The guy is a major j*** about it and flat out refused… wanted me to order a more expensive dish. I got a burger instead. We order from here regularly. Probably will refrain in the future.

We stopped in for a quick bite, not expecting much but tired of trying to find parking downtown. Everything was fresh and cooked well, classic fried fish and shrimp without any fuss.

I travel all over the country and a lot out of the country. I have never actually encountered a manager who wouldn’t substitute due to a food allergy. Yep. Right here at home less than 5 min from my house. The sweet young lady at the register tried but the manager was truly a j*** about it. We get food for my elderly mother here once a week. That won’t continue.

Two Philly cheesesteaks, a kids cheeseburger meal. Order of cheese sticks and a small side of Mac-n-cheese. Two cups of water (didn’t realize water was a $1 )$50TLDR; try the mac-n-cheese first. If you like that, go for it. If not, don’t have high expectations for the rest of the meal.I never write reviews, but felt like this could be helpful to not only the owners but future customers. The Philly cheesesteaks were passable, I’ve had better, but I’ve had worse. Although for $12 (which is towards the higher amount I’ve paid for one, in California none the less) I would hope it would be towards a higher quality. The fries were also meh.The cheese sticks tasted like medium quality cafeteria food. They also forgot to mention they didn’t have marinara sauce at the time. I tried to use their ranch, but it wasn’t great. I will say for $9 you get like 8-10 of them, so for the quantity it was worth it, quality wasn’t great.I can’t speak to the kids meal but my niece gave it a thumbs up. ?What caused me to actually write a review was the side of Mac-n-cheese… dear god, it was cheese paste and pasta. It wasn’t even tasty cheese paste. For the owner; If you are getting these products from a supplier, I’d recommend shopping other suppliers, or maybe using their basic product and adding something to it. It looks like it’s owned by a family which I can appreciate, I understand times are hard economically for small businesses, but for the prices you are charging (at least the meal I got) you need to up the quality not so much the quantity.

Best catfish! Tastes great and has good breading. Philly cheese steak was also excellent. For sides, the fried green tomatoes or rice & beans were the best! The coleslaw was a pass though.Employees are very nice and helpful.

Tho okra it’s fried good , the fries changed , the catfish changed. I don’t like the food anymore. The guy that used to own it made sure everything was fresh and good . Why did he leave. Please come back and I will come back.

This is the best food in town. Don't listen to the bad reviews. I'm convinced they are from other restaurant owners in this town trying to make it seem like a bad place. The food has gotten significantly better the last several weeks and the new owners are amazing. They go above and beyond for their customers and this place is their livelihood. They will do whatever it takes to make things right within reason. The quality of the food is so much better now. They really care about the quality of the food and the quality of their customers experience. I've even heard they will be extending business hours and revamping the menu soon. Eat here. You will not be disappointed. I'm happy to pay more for the food when I visit now because the food has changed for the better. This will be my first choice evey time I come to Hot Springs.
