I really wanted to like The Avenue because I was the one who recommended it to our group, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing.

Our drinks and appetizers came out quickly, so we thought we were off to a great start. After about 45 minutes, we still hadn’t received our salads or seen our waitress, so we flagged down another server to ask if the salads could be canceled, assuming our entrees would be arriving soon. At that point our appetizer plates were still sitting on the table, our bottle of wine was empty, and no one had checked on us.

When our waitress finally came back, she told us the salads were being served with the entrees. That’s not something we requested, and it would have been nice if she had mentioned that beforehand. By the time our entrees arrived, we’d been waiting well over an hour.

Our friends ordered the Osso Buco and said it was tender and flavorful. Unfortunately, my Cajun Linguini Alfredo was a letdown. It looked like it had simply been dumped into a bowl and was extremely oily.

After the food was delivered, we didn’t see our waitress again until she brought the check. What made the experience even more surprising was that the restaurant didn’t seem particularly busy for a Saturday night.

The service, lack of attention, and overall atmosphere just didn’t live up to the expectations. I left feeling disappointed, especially since I had suggested we dine here. Based on this visit, I’d describe the experience as below average at best.

My wife and I finished our lovely stay at The Waters with an amazing breakfast at The Avenue. The atmosphere is picturesque, and is one where you deliberately stop, look around, and just enjoy being in the moment. My wife had a parfait, and I ordered the brioche French toast. My meal looked too beautiful to eat, but eat it I did, and I have NEVER, in my 50 years on this earth, eaten French toast THAT damned good! It was served with syrup, which I didn't use because, trust me, it would have been an insult to the dish. The vanilla bean filling more than held its own as the sweetener, and the brioche toast was not only buttery, but the cinnamon absolutely sang in my mouth. My wife kept eyeing my food, so like a good husband I offered her some, and she loved it! Our server, whose name I didn't catch, was sweet, friendly, and really on the ball. I now have a new favorite breakfast spot in Hot Springs!

We came in for brunch on Father’s Day because the Pancake House was packed. The food was phenomenal! I had biscuits and gravy topped with an egg and my hubby had The Avenue Omelette. So impressed! Our server was great and attentive. (Sorry for the half eaten pictures! lol)

My husband and I frequent Hot Springs, we have eaten at the waters restaurant many times. We have historically
had wonderful experiences with the staff and the quality of food and service. Saturday June 13th we had a reservation set up for 7PM, because it’s hot springs and the wait times can be daunting. We arrived at 6:30 to a very dark dining room, all the lights were off in the dining side and no hostess to be seen. We did see a family at a table bar side and a couple people drinking. We found the atmosphere to be very odd but sat at the bar to have a drink and wait (assuming they were ‘opening’ around the time of our reservation). We sat with our drinks for a moment and a couple walked into the dining side shortly behind us. They asked if they could eat and they said yes and finally turned the lights on? These people were not ready for their customers and I was put off by this. This is not Hilton quality service anymore. I don’t know what happened between now and last year, but we left and ate someplace else. You’re not inviting in customers keeping all the lights turned off during dinner time and only turning them on when someone asks if they can eat. Mind you, the places wasn’t busy either. 4 people at the bar including us, a family of four with little kids in a table behind the bar and the couple who walked into and asked if they could eat.

Happened to walk past this place and decided to stop for breakfast. Food was good. Plenty of it, we were both full when we left. Good vibes. Server was very friendly.

Having Brunch @8am. The beignets were disappointing overall. The presentation was generously coated and the taste didn’t make up for it. Heavy texture, bland flavor, and not the light, fluffy quality you expect from a good beignet. Easily one of the weaker parts of the brunch experience at The Waters Hotel.

Where do I even begin? The service from both Jupiter and the bartender was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. We waited over an hour to receive our food, and at the beginning of our visit I waited an additional 30 minutes just for our drinks. The drinks had already been made, and I eventually had to walk up to the service table myself to retrieve them from the bartender.

I privately mentioned to my girlfriend that the drinks and overall service were not good. This was a conversation strictly between the two of us. A few minutes later, Jupiter repeated our private conversation to the bartender, who then approached us aggressively and began cursing at us for no reason.

Both employees acted very unprofessionally throughout the experience. On top of that, Jupiter made an offensive comment saying, “This is why we don’t serve Mexicans at this place and waved his middle finger at us,” which was completely unacceptable and discriminatory.

Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant or staying here to anyone.

The food is wonderful but the service is horrible. Restaurant less than half full and could not flag down a waitress to ask for a drink or refill the entire meal.
Ignoring tables that much almost has to take effort

Brit The Beautiful Bartender was The Sunshine I needed and Logan was the The moon. We will be back to see you guys soon. Hot Springs owes Us nothing after this setting Lol

I went here with my mom and it was absolutely amazing!! The service was incredible. I don’t remember our waitresses name but she was the sweetest. On top of the phenomenal service, the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting! High quality and a must stop!!

We genuinely enjoy the Avenue. However, several times we’ve made the drive only to be told they’re not taking walk-in service. We’ve even called before hand, made the hour drive, and then still have been told they weren’t taking walk-in’s. It’s frustrating. In the days of social media, getting a message out that you’re not taking customers without a reservation isn’t difficult. Not doing so shows a complete lack of concern for your customers, especially returning customers. Further more, notifying your staff so that they’re not misleading people who are trying to do business with you should be an obvious step in running a restaurant. So if you’re looking to go eat there, call ahead and make sure you can eat there. Then still be aware you may not get to eat there, anyways.

We were traveling through and stopped to eat here. The waitress was very nice and the atmosphere was beautiful. Unfortunately, our order was incorrect for two of the four meals, and we found a hair in our drink.
