We have been staying here for Derby weekend for about the past 15 years and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. The carpet it so filthy looking you don’t dare walk on it, mold in the bathroom, inconsistent hot water, and dust under my nightstand. Two years ago the ceiling paint kept peeling off when the fan was turned on. Needless to say this was our last year!
My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding anniversary with an overnight stay at the historic Arlington Hotel. They are in the midst of a complete restoration with most of the exterior done. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to stay in one of their completely renovated rooms and it exceeded our expectations. When reserving the room, I mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary and we were surprised to see we scored one of the renovated rooms BUT the real surprise was when we walked into the bedroom of our Junior Suite. Awaiting us was chilled champagne, Kilwins chocolates, rose petals and a unique decoration on the bed (how did they know Kilwins is something we enjoyed at our wedding?). We played tourist and visited several downtown shops. If you have family, friends, clients visiting or want to celebrate a special occasion, we highly recommend the Arlington Hotel. They really went above and beyond our wildest imagination with all the extras. Be sure and mention any special occasion when reserving your room.

We did not stay here, but wanted to leave a review just to say WE LOVED CHANCE! We stopped in for a drink at the bar and ended up staying for quite a while! He was energetic and made the atmosphere feel safe and fun! We were leaving town the next day but when Chance told us there was music and he’d be bartending the next night, my husband and I genuinely considered staying just to come back and hang out!!
Better than expected! We haven't been to Arlington Hotel in a long time and wanted to try out their Sunday brunch. We were impressed! Wide selection of food, all hot, all good quality. Jacob Flores the “one man band” was playing a wide variety of amazing live music. Would recommend and would go back again.
I was looking forward to going there . I worked there in 88-89 , I told my wife how it used to be and the quality . I was shocked at how it has become . The cooks were great . The server was not very attentive to us . I Could see where there needs a little tlc .
We have stayed here in the past and after this weekend we probably won't in the future. While we love the nostalgia of the hotel and the amazing lobby, the rooms are in need of major repairs and updates. Black mold, dirty walls, bathrooms not cleaned well, and a bad smell. Pros- the air works well and the bed was comfortable.
Service was very slow due to the kitchen, not the wait staff. Food was inconsistent. Table of 8 and 6 of us got our meal 30 minutes before the the last 2. When the last 2 finally got theirs portions were either over cooked or cold. Manager addressed the issue to our satisfaction. Reservation was booked well in advance for a birthday dinner. It appears most of the wait staff is new and was not given the tools to adequately serve in the dinning area. Lack of knowledge about the food/drink menu. Disappointed with the meal service and will choose another restaurant on our next trip. *** Breakfast was also very poor in quality.
I want to command the reception person Chris Hill who was generous, communicative and very helpful. Thank you, Chris!
The entire hotel is just ran down. Great service great staff but the place is just not very special. The money being put into mic needed updates is being outpaced by “falling apart” It is clear that the current owners do not take pride in this historical hotel. they either don't have the money or don't want to spend the money to make appropriate updates. The repairs that need to be done to this hotel would have to be done a floor at a time.

Dog food would have tasted better. Seafood buffet was not as advertised. Low quality. Lobster ravioli was actually grainy beef ravioli with gritty cheap cheese sauce and a little bit of fake crab meat thrown in for show. Everything looked and smelled odd. Hot and cold foods were room temperature. Do not recommend.
Aimee, our waitress, was very friendly and provided a wonderful service. The food - We started with garden salad followed by 10oz ribeye steak and 8oz filet mignon. Both entree were delicious. Unfortunately, we didn't save enough room for dessert. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back.
We had brunch at the Arlington after it had been recommended to us. The interior of the hotel and restaurant reflect the grandeur of times gone by. It is easy to imagine former presidents and dignitaries having stayed there. Our service was good, our waitress very friendly. No complaints there. The food offerings were extensive and diverse, with a made to order egg station, a prime rib station complete with au jus and horseradish, salmon, eggs Benedict, bagels and locs, a salad bar, fruit plate and dessert station. Some of the food was under seasoned, and the desserts left much to be desired, however, it is an experience worth having. Even if you don't partake of the brunch, you have to check out the shops on the lower level.
We came here for the Sunday brunch. The dessert bar was incredible as well as the carving station. Eggs Benedict was surprisingly very good being that they are being kept in a chafing dish. The omelet station had a good assortment of add-ins but not sure if it's the oil or butter but the texture of the eggs never quite cooked thoroughly more like runny scrambled eggs ? With all the choices it was definitely worth the price. Having the live music was also very nice. Definitely come back when back in town.
Boiled shrimp and raw oysters were under water and not on ice, shrimp mushy, oysters watered down. All baked and fried fish was dry. Most food was not very hot and fresh. Salad bar was empty until we were mostly finished eating. Best part of meal was the gumbo. Would not eat the seafood buffet at the Arlington Hotel again. Poor food quality for the price. However, when we ordered the day before from the bar Menu, the food was awesome.
