I came all the way out from California for some good eatin and when I drove by something said "go in there!"...and lemme tell ya, that "feeling" wasn't wrong. If I could give more than 5 stars on all the options (food, service, atmosphere) I absolutely would. Jambalaya was absolutely fantastic, crayfish mac-n-cheese was the best made combination of cheeses and flavors I've ever had. The fried green tomatoes were a little small for my expectations but knocked my taste buds off the wall!! And the crayfish ettufee well, I couldn't get enough. The server was beautiful, polite, funny and informative and her customer service left no room for complaints. Absolute joy and the next time I'm truckin through I will return!

Review for Ben-Yay's Jonesboro, ARIn restaurants about 5:20pmWe ordered crawfish mac & cheese, gumbo, shrimp basket, and an order of beignets. They do have a bar. Took 50- 55 minutes to get our food. Our server was nice and attentive, but she apologized for the kitchen repeatedly. Said they only had one cook. Restaurant was not that busy, about 9-10 people at the time. Once the food arrived, it was pretty good. Gumbo was very green peppery. The beignets were undercooked and complete dough in the middle. We might give them another try, but they do need to straighten their kitchen out. We want good restaurants in downtown.

Good food, quiet atmosphere, great service. Would eat here againWe went on a Wednesday around 7:00pm and expected it to be a bit busier than it was. Two patrons at the bar and the booths were occupied but other than that, it was just my sister and me. We were greeted when we walked in, a good start. We went in thinking it was Yesdogs (this is important later.)Our waitress (Brooklyn) offered the drink specials and took our drink orders; I ordered a Shiner Bock and my sister ordered a Yuengling. We also ordered Boudin Balls. Cajun food is cooked with the trinity, which is onions, celery, and bell peppers. It just so happens that my sister and I are allergic to bell peppers, weird I know. Because of this we were reluctant to order any of the entrees. Fortunately, there were several good choices of appetizers which is what we ordered. We started with the boudin balls which were pretty tasty. I would add a bit more spice to it for authenticity but otherwise they arrived at the table hot and crispy. The remoulade tasted more like honey mustard, no traces of horseradish and pickle juice. The ranch dressing tasted like the original Hidden Valley Ranch and was perfect! We also ordered fried green tomatoes, literally the smallest tomatoes I've ever seen. The crab and fireworks salsa was good, the tomatoes tasted good as well. However, they were smaller than a salsa lid to give you a visual representation. Next up was the order of wings... simply seasoned with garlic, salt, and pepper but perfectly cooked. To finish out the order, we ordered Gator bites. Alligator can be tough and chewy sometimes, and a few of the nuggets were such, fortunately, the bulk of the order was very tasty.

As a native Cajun from South Louisiana, I try to give all restaurants out of state the benefit of the doubt. I’m not going nitpick on the little things, as I realize where this restaurant is at. However, the SHRIMP!!! At 16 dollars a Po boy you should be using Gulf Shrimp and should know how to fry them, if they were fried? Almost tasted pre breaded before frozen with a funny after taste. I usually try the Shrimp Po boy in all out of state restaurants, as it is the easiest meal to prepare, and usually serves as a good indicator what the rest of the food will taste like. Easiest at best, Seasoned Flour and Shrimp out of Ice Cold Water.

Came to eat here and waited 20 minutes for a table to be cleared off so we could eat. While we were waiting people came in and were told to pick a table. Well guess what! They took the table we had been waiting on. The service here sucks to the max. We had 3 kids who were really wanting to eat but now have to wait until after the Christmas parade. I sought I will ever come back here since they over look those customers who set and wait for a table only to be over looked. The servers saw us and even told us it would take them about 10 minutes to clean off a table for us. Once the table was cleared off we waited for them to place more chairs for us and they never did. It is like they did not care if we stayed or not. I have never had anything like this ever happen to me or my family before.

The food was good but expensive. We went specifically because of the menu we saw online. When we got there the menu was much smaller. There seemed to be lots of homeless people going in and out multiple times it was raining so I can understand.

Server was very sweet and did her best. We had the steak dish and a chicken Alfredo. Both dishes were soupy. Steak was served over a bed of potato’s that were flooded with cream. Steak lacked flavor. Alfredo dish included “sun dried tomatoes” which were just raw tomatoes thrown in at the end. There was live music the night we were there and it was very loud and distracting from our meal. I think there is potential but it needs ALOT of work.

Visited this New Orleans-inspired restaurant in downtown Jonesboro. We ordered the calamari and gumbo as appetizers. The calamari was perfect and served with a good remoulade sauce. The gumbo was ok. They use a blonde roux and the veggies weren't cooked down enough. We got the catfish basket and the alligator po boy as entrees. The catfish basket was rather expensive but the fillets were huge. It came with two sides and my son got fries and crawfish mac and cheese. He said both were great. The alligator po boy comes with alligator sausage and not fried alligator, which is what I was expecting. It was still good but a designation on the menu would be nice.We got the bread pudding for dessert. Although it was good, it was heavy on the nutmeg. If that was cut down it would be perfect. The place wasn't too crowded and they have a bar if you want an alcoholic beverage. Our waitress was great! Overall not a bad spot and I would go back.

Worst place in town. 4 out of 4 orders turned back to the kitchen. Nothing was as described on the menu not even close! On top of that it wasn’t edible. Paid for drinks and left a tip. Went down the street to Skinny Js to eat. Ran into 2 different groups doing the same thing because of same experience!
