“The great and the ugly.The service was great, prices are awesome and we had to take food to go because they give so much.We tried a lot of the menu, best fried pickles ever, best okra, really great potatoes, Mac and cheese, coleslaw. The meats were good, brisket pulled pork, pork belly, sausage.I highly recommend this place with a warning.Maybe this was a bad batch but I swear the pulled chicken we got came out of a can. It was something we didn't even eat or take home because it was just bad.So don't get the chicken and you'll love it.”

“Blue Agave is a lovely little restaurant, the staff is super friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. Their prices are much lower when compared to other Tex-Mex restaurants in the surrounding areas. “My husband and I ordered a lot to try it out. a black coffee, 2 raspberry Italian cream sodas, frozen chocolate mocha, the "O" sandwich, and breakfast burrito and a blueberry scone. We also ordered a sugar free chocolate mocha that wasn't that great but they were really good to us when my husband didn't like it. He got to choose a different drink. Very kind staff. I love the positive and honesty in this place. I highly recommend the blueberry scones.”

“We were pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a restaurant. We were met with the friendliest staff and a wonderful man playing multiple instruments and singing gospel and Christmas songs. The food could have been cooked by my own mom in her kitchen at home. We loved our meal and the atmosphere. This will be a must stop anytime we're in the Van Buren area again.”

The owner is local and the restaurant has the feel of eating with friends. The local public schools have a long tradition of winning sports programs and memorabilia of state championships and antique license plates and old signage adorns the walls. Rough lumber walls evoke the feel of the namesake, "barn," and the place is kept clean. The food is very good and reasonably priced. We ate tonight with our family of four with two kids' grilled cheese sandwiches (a side and drink come with the kid meals) and a large pizza with a two liter bottle of Coke for $34 and change (including tax but not including tip).”
