There's always a ton of people here every time I go, they start serving at 5pm, and they open the doors early so people come in and line up down the whole restaurant and wait for 5. Then you pay and they give you a tray to help yourself to the buffet. If it's a major holiday, you will be eating while others stand in the open spaces between tables as they wait for a seat. Their food is delicious.
Our first time here. Arrived around 5:45. The line was long and took around 15 minutes to pay for our meal and get to the buffet By then there was only two tables in restaurant left that only sat two people so our party of 4 had to be at separate tables next to each other but facing different directions. We've eaten at this AYCE several times. Be prepared to wait early before opening, or wait after opening. Abe's has a small Dining area with extra seating upstairs, and next to the cashier. Most foods are fried, along with hot water cornbread, boiled shrimp, greens, corn on the cob, red beans and rice, chicken and dumplings and other Southern favorites.
