Traveling through and stopped by for late lunch on Friday June 30. Sadly we were told they were out of all the plate lunch’s so wife ordered the cheeseburger and I ordered the double cheeseburger. The chef smiled and said you must be hungry. When she brought out the burgers I seen what she meant, the double was huge. We were driving to Hot Springs when my husband decided he wanted a cup of coffee and a pastry. There wasn’t much around, so I decided to give this place a try. My husband loves country cooking, so I wasn’t surprised when he decided on a plate lunch. He had chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, and cornbread. It was an old country store. Fairly good burger. The ladies sort of ignored us at first. Then, the lady in charge came and took our order. When I was ready to pay her, hilariously, she goes, "You pay over THERE!" (as if I was not very smart). And she pointed to an empty counter. It was an experience, for sure.
