Had chicken fried chicken with broccoli salad. It was great! The chicken was so juicy and not dry like other places. Also had the liver and onions, and it was also delicious.First time trying OPossum Pie, and i wish i lived here so i can have it more often. Ryleigh was a great server. So amiable and helpful.
I ate at the old restaurant when I was a kid and while I miss that historic building, it is nice to have a larger restaurant with more staff and parking.My favorite foods are breakfast with biscuits and gravy, steak salad (of course Old South dressing) and chicken fried chicken. 12n meal after drive up from Little Rock for an appt & great reviews about Old South were on the money! Place was bustling but were seated immediately. Our server Christie was a pleasure, as were all staff. Fried green tomatoes were hot & delish & out super quick, as were the good house salads & huge Fried Pork Chop & Chicken Fried Steak with perfectly seasoned white gravy? We'll definitely come back next time we're anywhere near Russellville!
