“It's just a simple local joint with homemade soul food. It's delicious and pretty reasonably priced for the portion sizes. Like, I got a TON of food for 20 bucks. I got the smothered porkchop with rice, yams, and mac and cheese. That plate came with a cornbread muffin. I also added a side of broccoli and cheese. Generally, everything was delicious, and I'd definitely eat here again. There were some things I might do differently if I were cooking the food, but that's the beauty of eating other people's cooking. It doesn't have to be made how I would make it. I get to experience someone else's interpretation of how they cook the same foods. For example, I use more brown sugar in my yams, and thats my preference, but theirs were still very good. Overall, it was a great experience.“

“Listen I was in Memphis visiting from out of town and had a desire for some soul food. Got online hit the search box then hit the reviews so boom off to SOULZ we went. The food was very tasty my ONLY complaint was that I didn't have a actual piece of chicken just pieces in the dressing“

“Our food was good (pork chip, catfish, mac and cheese, green beans, cornbread). The building is very cute with the eclectic seating. The owner is sweet and gave her an infamous hug after ordering. I was worried about parking but they have signs with dedicated parking for their patrons.“

“In the heart of downtown so full of Memphis culture. The owner Mr. Willie is still vibrant and down to earth even dapped (????) up my momma ??. I love the energy that the memories must hold tightly in the walls and checker board floor. I'm visiting Memphis Even though I was raised here I didn't know it existed but I was so fulfilled from the experience!!“
