Random wasteland encounter place. It has entertainment and serves you all the connivences of a regular gas station. A more novel gas station akin to Buc-ees. Might as well stop to cut the monotony of your long trek across the Southwest.

Update: we sent an alien we purchased from Bowlin's The Thing Travel Center to space, and it survived!! Highly recommended for space flight and other extreme uses.

My only regret about visiting this place is that I couldn't buy every damn thing that's in there. It's amazing. ?

After years of passing by this place we finally succumbed to the allure. We were not disappointed but thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The museum is very well done, even with the kitchy sci-fi theory running throughout. Lots of "What if" questions and life-like statues. Someone with a great imagination did a great job here. The gift shop is huge but tidy and the people are very friendly.

There's a gas station, bathroom, gift shop and convenience store, so everything you need during a road tripThe Thing Museum is very cheap even for a family. It's super quick to go through and very fun, definitely worth a stop
