It had been awhile since we had stopped at Collins so I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised by change. The service was top notch!! However the atmosphere has changed to accommodate the college crowd. I get it, but that it used to feel like a warm, inviting pub. I’m sad to say that feeling is gone. Food was good and place was clean except for the bathrooms.
Driving through, stayed up the road and decided to grab some food to take back to the lodge. Husband and I split a wrap with fries and it was delicious. Staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs when we picked up our order (needed extra napkins and utensils). Can't really comment on service beyond that but would recommend and would gladly patronize again.
This bar/restaurant was a great find. Irish travellers ourselves, we only had to cross the road/Route 66 from the Amtrak station across the way to find a welcoming and friendly pub. Great staff and more than decent ‘bangers and mash’ which made a welcome change from burgers, tacos, etc… Good beer too and enjoyed the atmosphere. Highly recommend!
