Attempting to beat the heat from Phoenix we came up to Flagstaff where it was almost equally hot. Met up with some friends at salsa bravo, which made the day better. Pineapple salsa and friendship. We were there for 2 1/2 hours visiting.
I'm giving three stars only because of the mandatory 4% service fee added to all checks. I asked my server if the amount went directly to him and he said no, it goes to the restaurant. I really have a problem with this type of thing and it's deceptive if it doesn't go directly to the staff.
Otherwise, the margarita, chips and salsa, and stuffed sopapilla were pretty good. Service was excellent and deserved a full tip above the required service...

We came here as a party of 13 and spent $300 for all of us so a little over $20 per person. My husband and I ordered the classic carnitas plate, the gordito burrito, fry bread, and sopapillas. The Carnitas were a little disappointing. The menu really hypes it up but it was kind of dry and I didn't finish it, I ended up trading with my husband and ate half of his Gordito Burrito which was SO GOOD. Highly recommend that.
