This is like having a great breakfast in a diner in the United States in 1960. And that is a very good thing. There must be 80 variations on omelettes on the menu (you order by the number). And the rest of the breakfast and lunch menu is quite good. The servings are very generous, the way staff is reasonably attentive and is it is a great way to spend part of a Saturday morning. Not fancy, but good.

Love historic places! The Crown is attached to a motel and you could drive right by it. But what a wonderful find. Mike wanted eggs Benny and this is the place to come in Flagstaff. Charming dining-room with a model train that goes all the way around. Mike loved his eggs Benedict. And. “Those” potatoes were delicious. Teah was super friendly, and gave great service.

Food was decently sized. Chorizo omelette was nice but steak omelette was under salted. The train going around the restaurant was cute.Main fault was the communication. One waitress said there was a 30+ minute wait when the diner was half busy, another said we could get seated right away. At checkout there is a 6.5% service charge on all checks to account for rising food costs- dunno why they wouldn’t reprint the menus instead to reflect that when in the service charge explanation they mentioned that staff get paid minimum wage. Also, the bathrooms were somewhat dirty and in the women’s one was out of order. I wouldn’t recommend dining here.

Cool place to eat before adventuring out for the day. We stayed in Flagstaff and ate here before heading to the GC. Great atmosphere and staff. The kids loved watching the real trains go by every few minutes and the train set running around the restaurant ceiling.

I stopped in here this morning to nab myself a breakfast: eggs and bacon. And this spot did not disappoint. It’s a quintessential Route 66 diner, with a railroad theme. It’s got a train track running around the interior with a moving train cruising the tracks. It’s also the meeting place for many local people from Flagstaff hour from a very friendly and are open to conversation. If you’re in town, give this place a shot. It’ll satisfy your hunger and give you a place to feel warm at heart.

If you’re running through town, like us, you stop at this restaurant, not just for the food. You come for the atmosphere, the warmth, and the memories for the kids!

Save your money for better places. We came here for breakfast and the food was extremely spicy. We were not warned about our items being spicy. My partner had to order something different because it was to spicy for them to eat. They got the vegetarian breakfast burrito which was extremely bland. The waitress didn't seem like she wanted to help us. She offered milk for me when I told her that mine was to spicy. The atmosphere is nothing like I expected it to be, the place was very ran down and dingy. The trains weren't even running when we first got here and one of the main reasons we came here.Overall, I think we'll be going somewhere else than here again.

Authentic American dinner for a nice experience! Many options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the portions are huge! Enjoy it!

Outside of building just says 'Restaurant' in big letters so drove by it without realizing what it was. Went in about an hour before closing. Saw two men working the floor and one cook. Good variety and got our orders out quickly. The train going around the room was neat. Only thing was that it was very warm in restaurant. Wonder if were having ac issues or not using ac.It sits in an old hotel parking lot that is currently not in business as a hotel but still functioning as something. A lot of people that weren't visiting the restaurant were just walking around the parking lot so made it a little comfortable.

Service was extremely fast and attentive (refills were provided before the current glass was half done).Food is delicious, and portions are generous.Atmosphere is quaint, and there is a model train running along a ceiling track... super fun for train fans.Kid-friendliness: There were 7-8 kids meal options.

The food was good, and the staff was friendly and quick to greet us. It was like stepping back in time on Route 66 when you walk in but it could use a little freshening up and the seating was in need of repair/replacement - torn and stained cushions on some of the booths. A good cleaning would go a long way too. The portions were large, and the kids loved the pancakes! The oatmeal appeared old and was a little dry, but with enough milk added it was fine. The hotel the restaurant is attached to is more of monthly rental now and is a little sketchy. The overall experience was good, but we would choose a new place in town to try out next time.

There's very few restaurants open in the town of Flagstaff, near where we were staying, past 8pm. We picked The Crown Railroad Cafe because it was open till 9.We were skeptical at first, being a Saturday night and walking into the almost empty restaurant, but the good reviews gave us hope.Turns out the reviews are spot on! The lunch counter gives it a nostalgic, old time diner feel, with a vintage electric train running around the top perimeter of the restaurant.I ordered the southern bbq sandwich which was delicious! Awesome fries, too.One of my friends had the cheese burger, the other ordered the french dip. Everyone was beyond happy with their choices. The waitress was happy to see us, even though we arrived near closing time.Trust the reviews! The place doesn't look like much upon first glance, but its a winner!

We enjoyed this fun and unique restaurant on route 66. The little train running around the ceiling is exciting for the kids. My pancakes were pretty standard diner fare, but the french toast was amazing as was the breakfast meats. The staff was all very nice, but service was a little slow. We would definitely go back!

The staff was friendly and my food came out very fast. The restaurant is cute, but could use a little sprucing up. I expected retro and not modern, but it was dark and dingy looking. Unfortunately, my sandwich was missing ingredients and wasn't very tasty. The fries were hot and good. One star for the food, four for my waitress and speed of service.
