What a disappointment! After making a reservation online, I called to ask a question about bringing an outside dessert for a 40th birthday party to find out that the reservation was not actually there. The manager called me back to straighten everything out and confirm our reservation for 10 to 12 people on a Saturday night specifying we would like to sit inside obviously in Arizona. Once we arrived with 10 people we were told that our reservation was for outside. Going to a speakeasy is for the atmosphere - sitting outside on a very muggy hot Arizona evening it’s not the vibe we were hoping for. After speaking to the manager, Stephen, he was unable or unwilling to accommodateus, the only option he gave us was to sit outside or wait 3 hours!! We got outside and the table was not big enough for our party and the fireplace was on and it was 80° with an enclosed patio that was only enclosed on the top so we could see all of the cars and the people walking by on the bottom, definitely not a speakeasy vibe!!!! The manager gave us a gift card and some free appetizers and then never came back to check on our table to see how we were doing. The waitress was great super friendly and super accommodating. The gift card the manager gave us was not able to be used tonight. We will definitely not be going to the Blue Heron again!! What a disappointment for my daughter’s 40th birthday. We were horribly hot, uncomfortable and smashed together at a small table so we could all enjoy each other’s company.
Definitely not a place to have a party or a get together!!

Amazing service, short wait, food and drinks are to die for. I frequent the place and it’s easily one of my favorite places to go to on fridays or weekends for drinks with friends.

This is a cool speak easy in Gilbert. Super cool vibe, amazing drinks and good food. If youre not driven from something on their food menu, you can ask for a Crust menu and get whatever you want there. I will be back.

Everything about place is great. Including the hidden back door entrance. Food is great except the flatbread pizzas and Calamari. Mine came with the crust so hard that I couldn’t bite thru it. Had to use a steak knife to saw into pieces. Also server said Calamari was fresh not frozen, it’s from Frozen. Very rubbery and hard to chew. Great craft cocktails.

Great experience! We went on a Sunday evening so it wasn't really busy at all. It was perfect for a little relaxing date night. Food was great and drinks were even better. Worth checking out for sure. I remember when that whole complex was being built so it's really cool to see everything there.

Came here tonight for a date night with my wife—what a wonderful experience! The cocktails were fantastic, and the food was great. We ordered the Sidecar, Crane's Cloud, and shared a Last Mango. All were excellent. We do wish there were more food options, but everything else was great. The music was fun, and the atmosphere was relaxed and vibrant. Our bartender, Suede, was stellar. He was so personable and attentive. We’ve found our new favorite neighborhood bar!

Stopped by here after work with my husband. We have friends who have recommended this spot and we expected to get some drinks, have dinner, and hang out for a while. I think we left after 15 minutes because it was so underwhelming. I will say, the hostess and our waitress were both very nice so I don't have any complaints about the service.
The music is VERY loud. Don't come here if you are hoping to have an actual conversation with someone. The tables are also super close together. If the music wasn't so loud, the surrounding conversations would still be overwhelming because you're less than an arm's distance away from the table next to you.
The drinks themselves were pretty mediocre. I ordered the Crane's Cloud and my husband got the Standard Old Fashioned. He said his drink was watered down. Mine was ok, nothing special, but the thick sugary texture made it very sticky and prone to dripping down the glass. They drinks weren't served with cocktail napkins and the waitress took away our cloth napkins when we decided against eating. This made a decent mess on the table and I just had to sit there with sticky hands until we left.
Honestly, I'm tired of going to these trendy speakeasy/themed bars hoping they're actually good for once, just to be disappointed when they're average at best and using the decor to justify charging $18 per cocktail.

I love that this speakeasy opened up on the Eastside, we definitely needed a place like this! Very nice decor, their drinks were excellent and the food was amazing, short rib and meatballs were on point. The sidecar had a sweet twist to your traditional sidecar cocktail but it was still very good. We sat at the bar and Chris was our main bartender, very good service from the minute we showed up to the minute we left. Would very highly recommend for a date night.

Ask for Chris when you come in! The dude is great at his job and just cool in general. His bar knowledge is deep, the food is great and the atmosphere is awesome!
All I can say is WOW. This review is long overdue, as I have been a regular here for years. This is my favorite bar to come to in Gilbert! The vibes are always relaxed but fun, the bartenders are so helpful and knowledgeable. The specials are incredible. Shoutout to Kris for being on top of his game at all times!! You can tell he really is a team player. The drinks are great but I come back w just to see him!! Also, this is the best charcuterie board for happy hour you can get. Great job everyone!!
Painkillers in Gilbert? Yesssss!
Just enjoyed an early evening out in which we spontaneously gave this place a try. The dark, decor was a nice contrast to the 106 blazing sun outside. We had excellent Painkillers as well as friendly conversation from Kris behind the bar.
We weren't that hungry so splitting the Chicken Alla Vodka was perfect. We very much liked it.
Love the hidden concept (enter the place from either the back part of Crust or from the door in the back of the building). I'm sure when the weather permits, the patio will be a nice relaxing setting.
Very nice experience.
So far have only been there for drinks and they were absolutely delicious! It’s a perfect upscale, speakeasy vibe. The food at other tables looked amazing. We’re already planning when to go back for a full date night!
So this place probably is cool, but our experience was terrible. We came in and sat at the bar where there was old drinks and old food expecting it to be cleared away and for us to be served some drinks the bartender looked frantic and didn't even make eye contact with us look like she was just trying to catch her tail. She had some other guy trying to help her get caught up, who also didn't acknowledge us. Not a good experience at all we just got up and left. Probably a relief to the worker there but what an unprofessional business to not expect a Memorial Day weekend crowd.
