Irene's is a legend for Mexican food in Globe. It has been years since I stopped, but green chili is still great. Nice daily specials that don't break the bank either. Worth the hour drive up.
Workers were spread thin on Taco Tuesday, and it took having to get up and ask someone in order to pay our bill. The (beef) tacos with beans and rice were good, but the chips served with salsa were not crispy or warm. My drink was refilled quickly by a conscientious server, but the servers were very busy, and I would say they were stretched beyond their limit.
Music is always so loud my husband has to turn his hearing aids off. You can't have a conversation because the music is so loud. The servers are great and the food good. They just need to realize the music is too loud.
