The food, ice cream, and shakes are worth the drive from Chicago to Kingman.
Coming from IN to visit friends we were excited to try this place. However it was extremely disappointing. The service was awful, the burger was not cooked to order, the ketchup bottle exploded all over my friend (took them forever to come clean it up), and it took forever to get our check, asking multiple times and telling the waitress how to split it and she still didn't know how to split it. Will never come here again or recommend.
On our way from Vegas to Pheonix we decided to stop here for lunch. We love diners and old school Americana. I have worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years from fine dining to diners. the feel and ambiance were perfect and exactly like the pictures. However the food came and both my fries and mt husbands onion rings were cold. the kitchen were rude to the wait staff. and you could hear it all from the counter where we were sitting. on top of that the mostly teenage staff...read full review

Located across from the Kingman Visitor’s Center, Mr. D’z Route 66 Diner & Gift Shop is a Route 66 staple serving tasty classic soda shop fair. The atmosphere offers a nostalgic Route 66 feel with vintage American decorations and fun '50s and '60s music, taking guests back in time. The menu includes typical diner meals like pancakes, sandwiches, omelets, milkshakes, burgers, and fries. A favorite offering is the homemade root beer, even better when made into a root beer float. The burgers and fries are super, with a large patty of beef and excellent fries. The homemade root beer milkshake is amazing. Portions are filling and the food is great for a good price. Service is good, though it can get very busy and maybe a bit rushed. However, the toilet services are really bad, dirty, and old.
