Loved the food. I grew up here and La casita was my first job. Honestly, it was nostalgic going back after 15 years and finding the food is made exactly the same with the same cook. It was amazing. I took my out of town friends and they fell in love. Wanted to go back just for the food. And the service was amazing!! If you ever have time passing through mammoth Arizona. Stop by the La Casita for amazing homemade authentic Mexican food.
La Casita is the standard by which I judge Mexican food by. My parents live in the area and I used to frequent with vendors when I worked at the San Manuel Mine.
Their chips and salsa are the basic. Always excellent salsa with a medium kick (everything is relative).

Out for a Sunday drive from Tucson to ? And drove past LaCasita .My girlfriend noticed the full parking lot. Being quite hungry I made a U turn , returning to LaCasita. Due to the 3 dogs we had with us , my girl ran in and placed an order to go. Less than 10 min later she returned with two boxes of excellent mexican food . My only complaint was the salsa could have been hotter(I like hot). Really enjoyed the food and will stop there again.
