Coming from authentic Mexican taste buds, I ordered scrambled eggs with chorizo and beans on the side. It's hard to go wrong with chorizo but the beans didn't taste authenticly made from scratch, I tasted canned refried beans. The salsa was closer to a pico de gallo and wasn't spicy. If this place starts making their beans from scratch and get a good seasoning on them it would be so much better!! Also, a fresh blended salsa with the right ingredients is a must!Dietary restrictions: Did not see gluten free tortilla options

I really wish I could give this a higher rating because my girlfriend and I have been wanting to check the place out for a while now( she's a glider student, I'm a Marine vet) but I just can't. We got there about 2 hours until closing, so it was still plenty busy but walked in and locked eyes with two of the workers kinda expecting to be greeted and well told to either sit down anywhere or something. Instead, we stood there waiting until a bus boy told us to sit anywhere clean. Took 15 minutes to get greeted and asked for drinks Cidy is who helped us and where she was nice when she did talk to us she had no urgency and when a table of 4 regulars sat near us she was super fast to help them get them drinks and we didn't get food for 42 minutes. The atmosphere was really cool with the planes and memorabilia, and it's close to the Marine Corps memorial, which is quite the place. The food my girlfriend got was good (sky rider burger) and the sides, but I got the country fired steak and country grevy. Personally, it was super bland, and all I could taste was the flour in the badder and grevy. Zero beef. I'm glad we went, but both of us are bummed because we had hoped for the classic dinner experience, which I love coming from Chicago, but this wasn't it...at all. I honestly don't understand the raving reviews unless it was just a better day (not firday afternoon). we didn't feel very welcome.

What a great discovery! We were cycling and wanted to eat on the road. This destination had a good reputation and we understood why. The food was delicious for the price and good portions. The decor and atmosphere are worth the detour.

Sky Rider Cafe is a genuine rural dining experience! My wife and I had lunch and chose the country-fried steak entree and French dip sandwich. The dining atmosphere is very American, with many hanging models of WW2 airplanes and photos of aircraft on the walls. Service was excellent, and food portions generous. Please visit Sky Rider Cafe, as these little spots of Americana are rapidly disappearing.
I love how they have little air planes hanging off the ceiling, they have great burgers, and the workers are very friendly and

This old-school diner does everything right. I appreciate the service from what seems to be the same crew whenever I visit. Whether you want breakfast or dinner, the product the comes out of the kitchen is just what you have hoped and expected from local diners for decades. There is something to be said these days for consistency - Sky Rider is just that.
