Tourist trap. Super pricey. 17 bucks for the tiniest turkey sandwich ever seen. Ranch beans was literally their chilli in a cup. 16 bucks for half a turkey and a cup of gruel (rice soup). Which was falled beef and rice soup. It was the most tasteless soup I have ever tried. Will not be back

Could not be more pleased, we have sampled the few eateries up here and this was the best. Fresh good food that hit the spot perfectly. The service was great and the view of the mountain and ski lift was fun. I had the 1/2 sandwich with the chilli.

Came up here for my birthday, although we didn't tell the server that. Got there about 1pm, wasn't seated until 1:35. Ate on outside patio with gorgeous view of ski lift across the way, multiple hummingbird feeders along patio drew in hummers and this was definitely the highlight.

But host was... weird. Service was...weird. Server ran past us after waiting ten minutes to tell us everything we were out of, (one of which of turkey, which I planned to order) then when we finally ordered, told us, oh now we have turkey! Huh. So in less than ten minutes on top of a remote mountain, now you have turkey again? Anyway. So we order corn bread as a starter, never comes. When our food comes, say hey never mind about cornbread, we're gonna get pie after, assuming she'll remove it from the bill since she obviously forgot. Well she didn't. And the food was... extremely mid. Like reheated food from a cafeteria. The German potato salad and the pie were decent, everything else was edible enough.

Definitely overpriced, but hey, again, we're on top of a mountain so you get the location tax I guess. Besides the bland overpriced food, both the host and server's behavior was questionable, bordering on rude. Would not return.

For $17 per sandwich we got one thin slice of meat, some cheese, Ortega green chilies and very thin sourdough bread. It looked like a grilled cheese sandwich, not a shaved beef sandwich. The turkey reuben also only had 1 slice of turkey and bland sauerkraut. Very disappointing. Really was looking forward to this place for my birthday. Never again.

IRON DOOR 2.5/10 or 1/5 stars.

I'm at a loss for words to express my disappointment. This place has been highly recommended by a few people. I ordered a Claim Jumper with a side of German potato salad, and my friend got a George's Gorge with a side of beans. The sandwiches were both SO DISAPPOINTING!!! These were like 20$ a piece and they tasted like something my high school would've served me in Los Angeles. The claim jumper tasted like they had slapped some steak-ums onto it and was very bland. The bread tasted like basic store-bought and didn't feel like a fresh-baked roll; it felt super processed. For the Au-jus, this stuff tasted like it came out of a packet from the dollar store. I genuinely would've rather been served an ARBYS French Dip because they somehow are better. George's gorge was also just a boring, bland sandwich that is WAY OVERPRICED. Turkey was dry, Thousand Island dressing was lacking, and the sauerkraut didn't even have a good crunch to it. Both of these sandwiches were extremely bland, boring, and disappointing. The German potato salad was good; it was nice and rich while being very vinegary and sour, which I loved. The beans were just okay, nothing special, and relatively bland. I WILL SAY THE PIE TASTED GREAT, although I just wish it hadn't been served to me as a pile of slop practically falling off the sides of the plate.
To say the least, my first experience here was not good. I've never really felt genuinely scammed eating somewhere, but I definitely felt scammed going here. This is coming from someone who owned a restaurant in Arizona up until about a year ago; these people are overcharging you. The experience with this food bothered me so much that I haven't stopped thinking about it for weeks. I felt zero love in the food I was eating, and I've never regretted spending money on any sandwich this much in my life. I may return in the future for a second chance and to try some other items; every spot deserves at least two tries.
Sincerely,

Great place to bring family for a nice lunch on top of Mount Lemmon. We would have tried the outdoor patio, but it was not covered and it started to rain. We have a few things that need to be addressed: Unfortunately the tables are too crowded for wheelchair or walker assisted guests. You cannot easily pull an extra chair away from the indoor tables. The ladies room has a handicapped stall, however, the doorway to the stall is not wide enough for a wheelchair to go into the bigger stall. It's really only about 2 inches too narrow, and it could be resolved by installing a wider stall doorway. A sign is needed at the front door & another sign on the bathroom door, to indicate that the restroom does not accommodate handicapped guests with a wheelchair. Please take this as needed suggestions. Thank you!
