My family and I have dinner here every Friday, not just because it’s close by, but because the staff truly goes above and beyond. Tammy, in particular, is wonderful. She remembers what everyone orders and how we like it, and she is always kind and attentive. When I was sick, she even sent a get well soon note home with my family. If you are looking for a local diner that feels welcoming and comfortable, I highly recommend it.

The food was absolutely disgusting but the aftertaste of it tasted like silence. The service was presentable and it felt like I was in the express polar when they served chot hot. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing with dirt scattered everywhere around the tables. I even might’ve saw a rat scurry across the floor. The overpriced juice (especially apple juice) was amazing. I love this diner so much 5/5

so tasty! perfect if you’re craving good diner food with a nostalgic interior. our server tammy was extremely nice and made me want to come back everyday.
The food is great. Most of the rest is too. Only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars is the absolutely horrifying godswful hold music. It's an earsplitting rending of a song i recognize except as if performed by an ensemble of ice cream trucks from 1990 and big red plastic Christmas bells from circa 1979-1983 which my mother still hangs up every year. It made me wiah i was deaf and wish for death at the same time, an exsrcise in Schrõdingers vieceral response to noises one hopes dogs and cats can hear becauze that would be cruelty to animals, crimes against nature, an affront to G-d and a chillul haShem all at once. Why donthis to people? It can only be pure malevolence because literally no one could ever hear that sonic o

Great food super friendly waitresses!
Me and my boyfriend come in all the time and the server Desma is usually our server. She’s awesome, remembers our typical drinks and orders, always has a smile, and overall takes care of us!

A regular here for a couple of decades now. Always a good choice for diner fare. The French dip is my go-to but the au jus can sometimes be a little watery; and when the kitchen is on top of their game, the French fries are legendary.

I ordered Bisquets and gravey to go, I haven't stopped thinking about them since! Im not sure why, but the bisquets were the best I've ever had, and Ive had many! They were so fresh and squishy! Yum!

Ate here for breakfast with my family. Overall, the experience was just okay. The food was decent, but the home fries were overly salty. Another table mentioned the same issue while we were there, so it didn’t seem like a one-time thing.
The staff was kind and attentive, which we appreciated, but food-wise it didn’t quite live up to its rating.

Great 24/7 Diner Experience
I stopped by 5 & Diner on the 1st and was happy to confirm they truly are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week—which is a big plus. I ordered the Cali Benedict and asked the waitress if it could be changed to the Uptown Benedict with cubed potatoes and a side of bacon, and the request was handled without any issue.
I sat at the bar and had a great experience overall. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the front-of-house manager, Spike, was especially pleasant. Not sure which specific ’50s character Spike was meant to be, but it gave me Happy Days vibes.
While the décor could use a bit of a refresh, the place was very clean, which matters most. The menu really stood out—there’s a good variety of options, and several items caught my eye for future visits. Prices are reasonable for the area, and nothing felt overpriced.
All in all, a solid diner experience with good service, flexible ordering, and true 24/7 availability. I’ll definitely be back.
